Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: Excellent book from the mind of a great storyteller. Get it
Rating: Summary: A page-turner you won't soon forget Review: Though this isn't one of the most meaningful books I've ever read, I won't forget the thrilling ride Dean Koontz puts the reader on. If you want to take a break analyzing and dissecting the metaphors in classic books, or if love mystery, suspense, and a little sci-fi, you'll love this book!
Rating: Summary: I hate science fiction?!?!? Review: The initial set up and story was intriging. It went WAY off the deep end for me. I like something you can somehow remotely believe in. This explanation of all the bizarre happenings is a cop out. Too "Twilight Zoneish" for me. Very disappointed in the ending. This is my first Koontz book. After reading how others rated this book and in reference to some of his others I may give this author another try. The only reason I kept reading is because I had already read more than half when this storyline took a "nosedive." I'm glad I got this at the library. I'd be really upset if I paid for it!
Rating: Summary: No thanks... Review: Like the airliner around which it revolves, this story climbs at full power for the first couple of chapters, then comes crashing down in flames. What begins as an intriguing idea rapidly turns into a Hammer Horror episode, with an ending which hits the reader with all the subtlety of a poorly-lobbed half-brick, and makes you wonder whether you are still reading the same book you started out with. Rubbish. Shame there's no "zero stars" mark.
Rating: Summary: The best of Koontz. Review: I have read several of Koontz's books and have enjoyed some and disliked otherss. This rates with ' Watchers' as his best. Koontz and Steven King are alike in several ways. Both are talented but in their zest for putting out a book a month, some of their works have been real stinkers. Like King with 'The Stand', Koontz has written a great adventure with spiritual overtones. I consider 'The Stand' a classic, as goods as anything Hemingway ever wrote. "Sole Survivor' is not a classic but if you liked the Stand' you will definitely like this book. Koontz has the potential to write a classic and I believe that his best is yet to come. David Birney' s presntation is excellent. His portyayal of Joe Carpenter is superb and in general he does justice to every character.
Rating: Summary: captivating but a bit unbelievable Review: dean koontz's thriller "sole survivor" reaches out and grabs u with his heart-stopping descriptions and breathless chases. however, i believe his explanation at the end of the book is rather far-fetched and a bit unrealistic.. on the whole, a riveting book that deals with novel scientific concepts
Rating: Summary: SUPREB THE BEST!!!!!! Review: I've read INTENSITY and this and Dean Koontz always delivers nonstop fear, every thing was great, if you liked INTENSITY you'll love this BUY IT!!!!!!!

Rating: Summary: Koontz can be great in one book and ugly in another Review: Can someone tell me something about 'The Book of Counted Sorrows that Koontz keeps quoting???? williamw@kode.net Thanks
Rating: Summary: What's the next page gonna bring? BEST BOOK I EVER READ!! Review: When people ask me who my favorite author is, I now say Dean Koontz. This is my favorite book! I could not put it down. I loved the storyline, the characters you love AND I JUST WISHED it never ended! But when it did, wow-- awesome book!
