Summary: Intensely suspenssful, and a non-stop thriller!
Review: I think this book was an intense thriller. It was truthfully one of the best books I've read. The plot seems strange, but by after the first few chapters i couldn't put the book down. Every chapter left you asking more and more questions until you read the ending. this was the best part of the book because it took a totally unexpected turn that no one but the writer could expect. The gripping ending and non-stop action left me at the edge of my seat until the end when it left me questioning science itself.

Summary: I couldn't put it down!
Review: This is the first of Koontz's books that I have read. The fast moving plot and unveiling conspiracies kept me turning pages. The main character was surreal, but that did not take away from my enjoyment of the book. And the theories of life and death found in the book had a profound effect on me. I truely enjoyed this one, and I would recomend it for others to read.

Summary: VERY GOOD BEGINNING, VERY BAD END
Review: At the beginning, you thought it was going to be a good book. In fact the first 390 pages were very good. It had a very intriguing story line and I was hoping for a great finish to the story. But then, after reading the ending, I realised there was absolutely NO forshadowing whatsoever;the ending was totally inpredictable and insane. What about Dean Koontz. Well, I really enjoyed his writing style; it made if-you-think-about-it-it's-not-really-scary-things give a chill up your spine. Koontz must've had a death in the family when he wrote this.

Summary: GREAT!! GRIPPING!! Filled with excitement.
Review: Sole Survivor was the first book I read by Dean Koontz. I absolutely loved it! I found myself lost within the plot, never wanting to put it down. I couldn't wait to share it with my mother, who also enjoyed it. Everyday that I read it, family, friends and co-workers had to endure hearing me say "I love this book...I can't wait to get back to reading it". As you can see by other reviews, there are mixed opinions on Sole Survivor. Lets face it...you have to read any book and decide for yourself, if it is any good. I have since read Icebound, Hideaway, and Demon Seed (leaves something to be desired). The only disappointment I have found is in the endings of Dean's books. With that said, I am not sure if it is Dean's writing or just my not wanting the books to end. I have a feeling that is me.

Summary: So this is Dean Koontz?
Review: The first half of this book is fantastic. I really enjoyed huddling under the blankets on my bed, afraid to look into the corners of the room for fear of seeing something spooky...Unfortunately, the second half of the book became formulaic and predictable and the ending is so rediculous, it reads like satire. For those who like to wait for the final few pages to discover what happens, this is the book for you. For those who look for resolution that, while not terribly plausible, at least makes sense, then avoid this book. There is enough style evident in Sole Survivor to make me want to check out some of his other stuff.

Summary: A Big Bomb
Review: Dean Koontz fans, avoid this novel...I was really disappointed in this story, where a man who loses his family in a deadly plane crash is led to believe that a "Sole Survivor" survived the crash...as he searches for this survivor, he is being tracked down by an agency who will stop at nothing to make sure he doesn't find out the truth... This book lacks a solid plot, often leaving the reader to wonder if Koontz fell down with the plane as well...Also, the lack of explanation between events makes the reader wonder if Koontz really put a lot of dedication into this novel...I am not saying that Koontz hasn't had good novels (see my review on Intensity), but it just seems like Koontz put out this novel to make a quick buck...when in fact, all it's worth is about two cents...

Summary: Excellent page turner.
Review: Having not read a Koontz book for a while I found myself being absorbed into the plot just as I had in the past. The storyline is one that will keep the pages turning. Enjoy.

Review: I have read many Koontz books in the past and have come to consider this one of my favorites. The last two paragraphs of the novel summarize why this is such a great work of modern fiction. No one has the mastery over the English language and the ability to describe everyday thoughts and experiences in such a grand manner like Dean Koontz.

Review: Teens, and adults, I Meg, encourage you to read this book Sole survivor, by Dean Koontz. This book will put you in suspense till the end. If you like to wonder whats gonna happen next, you better read this book. it's a mysterie all the way, and I bet you'll never figure it out till the end, thats what made me just want to read and read until i knew what happed.

Summary: Why couldn't he have stopped with conspiracies after DROTH?
Review: Let's face it Koontz fans-the last genuinely great novel he published for our enjoyment was Dark Rivers of the Heart. Intensity was intense, certainly, but I prefer Dean's books that have a bit more meat to them (i.e. The Bad Place, Midnight, and of course the aforementioned Dark Rivers). As for Fear Nothing, Dean's latest, the plot is a rehash of Watchers, but is saved by a great main character. But the book was still a disappointment. Now back to Survivor. Entertainment Weekly (as I believe someone's already said on this review page) gave Survivor a C- review, and described the book as a ". . . lazy chase." Lazy Chase is probably the most apt description for this book. But the C- was a bit unfair. C works for me. The scenes dealing with the suicides were downright chilling, and Joe's "searching behavior" seemed real. I also thought Rose was a cool character.
