Rating: Summary: many vampires, many stories, yet one plot Review: Lestat woke up the ancient Akasha from her sleep and she thretens to destroy. That is the main plot, but the plot can't be described. It's a great book but read it and try to focus, there are so many characters you might lose something. I liked it very much, but you have to read all of them, all the books to fully enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Fablous Review: I have always loved the idea of vampires so when a good friend recommended this book, I decided to give it a try. At first it was somewhat confusing, especially since I hadn't read the first two books, but after a while I was so entraced by Rice's facinating characters that I couldn't put it down. For the next few days I read at least 100 pages a day because I couldn't wait for more. By far one of the best books I have ever read, The Queen of the Damned tells the tale of how vampires came into existance and how they are almost destroyed forever. What I loved about this book was that it was told from many different viewpoints so I got a much better idea of what was going on and how it affected different people. It showed the perspectives of ancient vampires, newly made vamps, as well as soon to be immortals. Overall an amazing book that is a must-read for all fans of the undead.
Rating: Summary: The Queen of Horror does it again! Review: Rice reveals the history of the vampires, gives us beloved old ones and interesting new vamps alike in this riveting read. Love, honor, horror, gore - we get it all. Fans of the Vampire Chronicles wont want to miss this one, and new fans will be irresistably addicted to the series. Bite into it, folks.
Rating: Summary: Fantistic!!!!!!!!! Review: I love this book. but you really must read The vampire lestat before reading Queen of the damned. The only thing is if you like the movie than i dont recommend this book b/c after reading the book the movie really sucks.....
Rating: Summary: Disappointing follow up Review: Compared to 'The Vampire Lestat,' this story is not nearly as good. There are tons of random characters in this story that eventually come together and effect the story as a whole, but it gets confusing for quite awhile. Also, the ending of the book is a little disappointing. When the climax actually happens, you find yourself looking for extra pages. Is that all? It was kind of a let down, although Rice does a fabulous job in the sections where Lestat and Akasha are spending time together. I was really able to visualize the mass island murders. A good book, but not as good as her first two.
Rating: Summary: Hmmmm Review: I cannot deny that Anne Rice is an incredibly gifted writer. Yet for some reason it takes me forever to get through her books. They are just not page turners for me. I can go a good three weeks between readings, and then I forget where I am and it's a struggle to make sense of anything. I probably will stop after this one and not read any more Vampire Chronicles books.
