Rating: Summary: This is easily my favorite of all books I have read. Review: Although I love all books written by this author, Queen of the Damned is easily my favorite. It is one of those stories that is not easily forgettable, and a beatifully written tale that doesn't get too wordy, or boring in any parts. Rice does a good job of taking what she initially portrayed as the Mother Vampire Goddess, and showing her true colors and making her out to be, simply, a small minded person who has no patience for anyone's views but her own.
Rating: Summary: This is the most sensual book I've ever read. Review: This book is simply the best. I recieved this book for my birthday and I am constantly thanking the person that gave it to me. I'm 16 and have been tellimg my friends about it and they all want to borrow it. Anne Rice is at the top of my favorite author list.
Rating: Summary: ASTOUNDING!! Review: I found this book utterly astounding. I am 13 years old. Though I may be a bit young for this novel, I understood it thoroughly. Her work is so great, I find it hard to decide which book, in the chronicles, I like best. I have just started The Tale of the Body Thief and love it already! I find it amazing how Ann Rice can express and explain situations in words. Her writing is unique and special in its own way.
Rating: Summary: The best of the Chronicles...The best novel I've read. Review: I started with 'Tale of the Body Thief.' From that point on, I was addicted to the vibrant worlds and colorful characters which make up the Vampire Chronicles. Next came 'Interview...', then 'The Vampire Lestat', then 'Queen of the Damned'. Since then I've read Pandora, Vittorio and Armand's tales. Great reads all, but the one that truly stands out is 'Queen of the Damned'. Yes, the story in a lesser scribe's hands could have been campy. Ridiculous. But in Rice's hands, the characters come alive, the scenes play out in brilliant color in your mind. You're there as Akasha begins on her evil journey. You live through 6,000 years of suffering with Khayman, Maharet, and Mekare. I can't say enough good about this book. Read it. If you can't afford it, go to your library. One more thing. Though I found them to be lesser reads, you might want to consider reading the chronicles in order. It does help to introduce some of the main characters.
Rating: Summary: "Draws you in" Review: I just started Anne Rice's books. I'm making my way in order. (I am now up to THE TALE OF THE BODY THIEF) This one is Great! Though if you are going to start the Vampire Chron. Start with THE INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, so you can get your story strait.
Rating: Summary: Amazing, completely enthralling from the very first page!!!! Review: My new favorite series. Anne Rice is an amazing author; her word usage makes you feel as if you're there, living the story with all of the characters in the book. She also brought the characters to life, made them loveable (as ironic as that is seeing that they're all-well mostly-vampires), and make you want them to succeed in their journies to come. It also really makes you think, which I love. It was interesting, and I really can't say enough good things about it. I LOVED IT!
Rating: Summary: beautiful story Review: THE Queen of the damned was an amazing book, but dont take my word for it read it for your self. I really liked how the tale took palces at differnt times and told by differnt characters that was really original. And I really like what happend at the really end, if you havent read the book I wont spoil it for you by giving away the ending. But anyways this book was great I cant understand how anyone cant like it.
Rating: Summary: GREAT!!! Review: this book is really, really, really good. the characters are excellent and i love them all. it's wonderful how they continue on and link to some of her other books. Addictive.
Rating: Summary: A little hard to swallow... Review: But I still enjoyed it. I just found Ann Rice to be a little hard on men in this one. Seems as though she might've been having a bad "man" day when she wrote it. Still pretty good though.
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: This book is definetly the best of the vampire chronicles. Oh how i adore Daniel, Armand and Khayman. When i read the first two vampire chronicles i fell in love with lestat and when i read this book i fell in love ten times deeper with Daniel. I think there should be a story based on him and Khayman, they are by far the most interesting characters ever to cross the face of the earth! If you ever get a chance to read this book don't hesitate to do so, you won't regret it.
