Review: After reading "I.W.T.V" and "T.V.L" I was ready to read the "Queen Of The Damned" This novel has a uniquness to it than the other two... It's kind of like reading a novel with a bunch of short stories in it... It goes through what happened the night of Lestat's big performance in San Francisco that wasn't mentioned in the last book... Great

I personally didn't like the Queen... I think she could've been more evil and more clever...

My favorite part of the novel is the "Legend Of The Twins" that was my favorite... it basically tells about how Vampires started exsisting... it's a great novel... and of course, our hero Lestat is a major part in the novel... Plus Claudia's diary is found, but I'm not saying what it says... you'll have to read it yourself! But you'll love it, trust me...

Summary: Queen of the Damned
Review: I found this book magnificent, the detail and the way Rice took the story from one character did not make my head wheel- no - it only enhanced the story, magnified it. It is really god, an I recommend that you read this, even if you are not a fan or have read her books. However, if you are planning on reading all of them, please do it in order, or else you will be left in the dark over some things. I read this one first, and I really regret it, please do not make the same mistake.

Summary: The best of the series
Review: Now that I've read all of Rice's Vampire Chronicles I can say this without reservation: this was the best of the bunch. Descriptive without being long-winded, thoughtful themes that aren't too abstract to find interesting, this book is an excellent read. Rice has created an entertaining bit of fiction that I read so many times I wore out the cover. The Mother of all Vampires, Akasha is wakened from her thousand year slumber because of, what else? good old Rock n' Roll and with her rising comes the kind of wrath that will make any woman with a sense of humor smile a bit (she blames men for the problems of the world and decides to clean up). The plot revolves around the Vampire Queen and the attempts made to stop her, the result is a VERY good read. This particular novel has a wider cast of characters than her previous works. Lestat and Louis are joined by a whole slew of other fanged friends, and while information on many of them is annoyingly sparse (who is Eric and where did he come from?), its a refreshing change for those of us that are tired of Louis' whining (Interview with the Vampire) and Lestat's boasting (The Vampire Lestat). All in all the plot moves quickly, although there is the occassional pointless page-long descriptions of things that need not be dwelled upon (a woman's blue jeans for example). However, that small complaint aside, this is an excellent book!

Review: A cast of thousands is right! I wandered what happened to the interveiwer. I loved the carecter of jesse and for the fiest time we get to see Lastat in the eyes of the vary ancent (Mharet, Kayman, and Marius) to the vary young (Danial, and baby Jenks) and even for a while and way a couple of mortals (Danial before Armand made him a fedgling, and Jesse before Mharet got a hold of her) I love the last line "Tell me how bad I am, it makes me feel so good!" Better then body thief but not as good as T.V.L.

Summary: The Best Book of the Vampire Chronicles
Review: Queen of the Damned is by far, the best novel in the Vampire Chronicles. And I have read them all. In this novel she explains everything. From how they came to be to the way to obliterate all vampires on earth. I do not recommend this book to readers who are not familiar with Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat. You must be familiar with these to truly appreciate the full meaning of this book. If you want to find out the history of these creatures, this is the book to read. It is filled with beauty and wonderfully scripted characters. You almost feel drawn into their world. Anne Rice is a truly, gifted author who introduces you to the darker side of life. She explains the emotional torment these creatures go through just to survive night by night in their own mind. And just how strong willed they have to be to understand us.

Summary: Only read if you are a fan of the series
Review: This is an OK book. Although not much happens throughout this book or the last. Interview with the Vampire was the only one in the series so far that was a complete story on its own.I have not yet read the novels which comes after this book, but hopefully they will be alot better. The only thing that really happens in this book is alot of the history of the vampires gets explained. Very little else happens.This is a 500 page novel and I was completely bored after 250 pages. That has never happened before. Ann Rice has always used a slow moving plot but in the case of this book the plot was slow and boring. Ever since Interview the quality of her work has been fading. I am about to read the next book now; I hope it will be alot better.Aside from the boring plot I have many other complaint with the series.What happened to lestat? This new lestat in the new books is not the same as the old one. The old one was a much better character. The same goes for Louis. Louis is not even an interesting character anymore. I hope he gets killed off somehow. In the first book I loved his character as well as the character of lestat. She destroyed Louis' character because she didnt want him to overshadow the character of lestat. Lestat is still an OK character, although he has been changed in order for the author to make him the hero of the series. It wouldnt be as much of a problem if the author hadnt given such a dumb excuse for his not being the way he was written in the first novel. She gave such a cheep and amaturish explanation. I am so annoyed by this. It could have easily been done much better.Also what is wrong with the vampires. In the first book they were not gay. They loved each other the way a father loves a son, the way two brothers or best friends loved each other. They had no need for sex, therefore they would have companions of the same sex and enjoy talking and looking at each other. They never kissed each other on the mouth like the way a few characters did in this book. All THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Many people believe that an angel is both male and female, but that does not include vampires. CHANGE IT TO THE WAY IT WAS IN THE FIRST BOOK.I am also tired of all the philosophy. Characters meet and have boring conversations for 40 or 50 pages. Characters meet and tell their 100 page long stories that could have been done in 1/4 the amount. The dialoge in the first book at least was very engaging.The first book contained an amount of action and suspence, I have not seen it since. There is no action, only talking. They say the same things over and over. First Book***** / Second Book***1/2 / Third Book **The next two books in the series look very interesting. They have original storylines not rehashed ones like the 2nd and 3rd ones. Hopefully they will be better than this.This book is still worth reading if you are a fan and intend on sticking with the series. It tells alot about the origin of the vamires and introduces many new characters. Just dont expect to much out of it.

Summary: One Of Anne Rice's excellent work
Review: I read this book and enjoyed the characters very much. I especially liked the story between Daniel and Armand. Louis, I found very likeable and not depressing a character as in Interview With A Vampire his love for his maker Lestat was genuine.I didnt want the story line to end. I also thought the introduction of Akasha, as the Queen of the dammed interesting, as a Person who is very interested in the ancient Egypt. This was a story line worth reading. Marius was also the as the shoulder everyone cried on, as was Maharet and Mekare. I just hope when they make this into a movie as they are planning to do they dont change the story line. I have heard they they are going to give Lestat a lover named Jesse, who is a minor character in this book. Lestat's real love is Louis. I hope Hollywood does not become too homophobic. If this book is done into a movie it should be done right, and enjoyed by myself such as I enjoyed reading it.

Summary: The Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice
Review: Queen of the Damned is a good book but I was wondering why all of her characters seem to have the same likes and dislikes. They always love classical music and have a deep appreciation for Renaissance Art. What about a vampire who likes rap and hip hop and whose favorite artist is Andy Warhol. What about a vampire with bad taste? Hey, what about a vampire who watches Tom Green and whose favorite movie is Dumb and Dumber? And why are they always gay or bi? I have nothing against gay people but what about a straight vampire for once. Surely there must be some straight people made into vampires! I was also wondering why all of her male characters are so much more sympathetic and nice than her female characters. There wasn't one nice female character in The Queen of the Damned. For some reason her female characters are always kind of cold and distant while her male characters are always very feeling, always weeping and stuff like that. And why does she always use the word weep instead of cry? Iam going to weep says Lestat. Anyway its a good book and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys vampires and other things that go bump in the night.

PS What about a plain and not too good looking vampire? Even when their suppose to be 70 yrs old they still somehow keep their looks like David Talbot. How about Ernie, the 40 yr old redneck vampire with the buck teeth, beer belly and thinning hair, whose favorite type of music is Elvis and Hank Williams and whose idols are Steve Austin and John Wayne.

Summary: Can it get any better? I guess it can!
Review: Queen of the Damned may not be the BEST book but it certainly is very creative and it explains A LOT of things that you may not have figured out yet. You learn about other vampires and you can clear up all the confusion about there exsistence. Have fun reading!

Summary: An Epic in Boredom!
Review: Contrary to the general public, I find Anne Rice someone who got lucky with one book (Interview with the Vampire) and seemed to rehash a lot of the plot in the unnecessary Vampire Lestat. With this third book she again rehashes the first book and adds a lot of boring characters and endless subplots. I was willing to forgive the liberties that she took with the vampire legend in the first book because it was well written and had interesting characters and subplots. But this one is so boring and painful that I only had myself wishing it would end soon.

The theater of the vampires and the characters there were so interesting the first telling but very boring in The Vampire Lestat. The Egyption vampires were so boring in Lestat and painful to read about in this epic of boredom.

If you want to read a good vampire tale I suggest Dracula, Interview With the Vampire, or the early Stephen King novel dealing with vampires (the name escapes me now).
