Summary: Slow and Boring
Review: This was easily the worst book of King's I have ever read. I am a huge fan of his, but this book was horrible. The only saving grace to it was that it was set in Derry, Maine, with some of the stores and characters from IT. If you want to learn about an old man that can't sleep and is Pro-Choice, then get this book. If you want good Stephen King then I suggest Skeleton Crew or something a little better than this.

Summary: Really good book!!
Review: This book really goes into the concept of a man who looses his wife, meets little imp-like people who go to their homes yet really good to read. Even though the book nearly 800 pages long, this book is good to the last page. I recommend it.

Summary: BEST BOOK YET!!!!
Review: I love Kings books and this was no disappointment. There could not have been a better title for this book. I was glued to it! I stayed up until 3 a.m. reading. It will cause your imagination to soar.

Summary: Stylish modern fairy-tale
Review: King pretty much calls himself a fantasy writer in Danse Macabre, and this story displays deftness in translating a fairy-tale into a story about another class of "dependents", senior citizens. The story reminds me of C.S. Lewis's story about children who perceive and participate in a deeper reality and help to save the day in times of crisis. In this story, the protagonists can SEE what's going on "behind the scenes" in our transitory reality of life and seemingly random death. They see what's going on and so help. Some may see the work as too theoretical, but it's just another approach to fantastic fiction. I'll agree that the blurb on the back of the book is pretty distortive, but I still enjoyed Insomnia. It's a good fantasy story from the perspective of older characters, something lacking in most fantasy fiction.

Summary: One of King's Greatest
Review: This is one of those books that you either like or you don't like. Personally I LOVED the book. I couldn't get enough of the imaginitive, new age look King was placing into this story. It kept me thinking during and well after I read the 700ish page book. And it is still worth the re-read after three years of having the book. If you like the "Eyes of the Dragon" King then you will Love Insomnia.

Summary: delicious!
Review: Stephen King is the master of intelligent horror fiction. Insomnia is my favorite of all his books. If you consider yourself a real fan, you don't read his milk-tooth works like Carrie and then say that Insomnia is too long. This is a sensitive, fine-tuned, utterly enjoyable and re-readable masterpiece enmeshed in King's irresistibly interesting world. Long-time fans will enjoy the interconnectednes to other King favorites like The Eyes of The Dragon, The Stand and The Gunslinger series as well as the mysterious and ultimately beautiful and symmetric universe which King's works inhabit.

Summary: one of the best book i've ever read.....
Review: some of the reviews you see here talk about the 7 hundred and 40tiesh pages that the book has, but believe, when i was about 200 pages to the end i wished the it had 1000, this kind of story, really needs you to get into it, and forguett all your believes about life and get into the book...i love the way you can see how every tiny thing has an importance here, and it would be very difficult to make it in a movie..read it, let your immagination go wild..and dont hurry up...try to understand everything, and the ansewrs will come... so what more can i say...this is a master piece...

Summary: Another King book I could not put down.
Review: King definitely grabbed my aura and held it until I finished the book. Great characters! I loved the way he slipped in a little reminder of IT. My attention was really into this one. It's a must read if you haven't read it yet.

Summary: Slower than my grandma!!
Review: I love Stephen King. But, I was so hyped on getting this book, then when I read it, I wanted to scream. The story was really nice, but 700 some odd pages is too long for such a boring book. It was too much fantasy for my taste. (Not to say that he has to make everything believable) If you people read my reviews and keep wondering why I down his books so much, it is because King rocks, and I don't want people to read stuff that doesn't help his image any.

Summary: OK
Review: There was nothing special about the book. I'll spend my money better the next time I'll buy a book. The first 200 pages are soooo boring. After that, it's readable.
