Summary: Very informative and interesting
Review: It seems to me that S.King had read C.Castaneda books before wrote Insomnia. Any way this book reads more easy that CC's. Of course it interesing and full of dynamic as usual. But there is one thing I didn't like is too much fantasy.

Summary: There's a plot in here somewhere, right?
Review: You know that question that goes something like "If you were stuck on a desert island with only one book, what would that book be?"? Well, my answer would be this one, because I wouldn't feel bad when I used it to start a fire. Stephen King was a great writer. Cujo, The Stand... great works of fiction. Insomnia... great example of how you can publish anything with Stephen King's name on it. Do not buy this, do not read this, do not walk too close to it in the bookstore.

Summary: Not one of his best but any KING is good.......
Review: This book starts out great.......very interesting but it wavers back and forth from interesting to boring. I think Stephen King has an imagination beyond most of us and every now and then it shows up in one of his books. Insomnia was one of them. I liked this book and enjoyed many aspects of it. I also found the characters endearing. Thanks Mr. King!

Summary: I plan to use this book for kindling next time I go camping.
Review: This was absolutely the worst book I have ever read. The plot, characters, and overall concept are so thin, that they make you feel as if you are being led on the page-turning equivalent of a wild goose chase. Also, it's pretty evident he must've just finished reading the Hobbit at the time he wrote this one. There must be at least 10 references to Tolkien.

Summary: A terrible read!
Review: I've read Stephen King books since I was about 12 years old. Most of his storys send chills down my spine, but after reading this book, I lost almost all respect for Stephen King. It starts out with a lot of potential, but as the story goes on I found myself cringing at its stupidity. It is so far-fetched and unbeleavable that if it had less profanity, it could be listed as fairy tail. I wouldn't recomend this book for anyone intelligent! All in all, a terrible read!

Summary: Great except for the gratuitous swearing
Review: Stephen King is certainly a brilliant story teller but why does a man of his talents always resort to cliched foul language and blasphemy? I do not find that aspect entertaining.

Summary: stephen king is finally back on the horse
Review: I loved this book because it was big and meaty and not afraid to be 100% King. The fantasy elements really transported me, they made me wish that I could see 'the colors', too. I loved the fact, too, that his hero was a senior citizen, and a very likeable one, at that. All in all, a great book with a super ending.

Summary: I WAS a King fan.
Review: I had been a Stephen King fan for over a decade. He helped get me through some really trying times in college and professional school - after all how bad can you have it if in another place and time there is a world-killing plague about to hit? (The Stand) Then I read this book. In other books Stephen King has been able to intelligently, if passionately and even humorously, discuss different opinions on religion, sociology, you name it - using his characters' personas. But in Insomnia he goes out of his way to, in the most offensively biased way imaginable, gratuitously insult, slander and demonize those who are pro-life. Everyone in his book is either pro-choice and compassionate or pro-life and some kind of homicidal maniac. I would have welcomed a thoughtful debate among characters about such weighty issues as he did in The Stand, but to create such ugly prejudicial caricatures is unconscionable and far beneath his writing standard. I was VERY disappointed.

Summary: An Amazing King Novel - A Worthwhile Read!
Review: Insomnia was the second Stephen King book that I ever read. I think that it was amazing and original. Anyone that hasn't read this book or just wants to start reading Stephen King, I recommend this book. You will love it!

Summary: A GOOD BOOK FOR OPEN MINDS
Review: Stephen King's INSOMNIA, about two old folks who basically save the world from total destruction, is a terrific book for those who believe in hyper-reality. Ralph Roberts, 70, and Louis Chase, 68, are not sleeping through out the night. They begin to have hallucinations and believe it is from there lack of sleep. However, the Purpose and the Random have bigger plans for them.
