Summary: Christopher Pike Classic
Review: I may not be a young adult anymore, but I was reading Christopher Pike before I was even a young adult. I always admired the way his earlier books weren't cheezy, portrayed teenagers as they actually behave, not as caricatured saved by the bell types. This was one of the first Pike books i read, and besides the Last vampire series, its my favorite. This coming from an ex-cheerleader. :)

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: My favorite Christopher Pike book -- so far...
Review: I read this book because it reminded me of John Saul's "Creature," which I sort of enjoyed. And it turned out to be even better.

What is the secret of the football players? Why are they suddenly so strong? And why have they become so cruel?

The secret isn't what you think. This is Christopher Pike, after all! In the hands of the wrong author, this book could've been *so* stupid. But in the hands of Christopher Pike, this works. Some reviewers have compared this book to early Dean Koontz, and I have to say I agree with them.

Summary: I thought this book was a truly believable horror fantasy
Review: I thought this book was really worth reading, it had my fullconcentration from the first chapter. The storyline was well thoughtout, as with all the Pike books I have read. I think it is a shame that there is not a sequal to this book (that I know of) as even I can think of more then one good storyline and I'm sure Pike could think of many more. I'm not going to tell you the story line as I think it spoils it but i'll say this: READ IT. If you like gore and death you'll like this!

Summary: not pikes best
Review: I've always liked Christopher Pikes book. They were entertaining, and always had me gripped wanting more. So when I read the blurb for Monster , it sounded good. So i begin reading , and it gets of to a bad start. This girl, Mary Blanc comes in with a shotgun. Shoots a football player in the guts, then shoots a cheerleader straight in the face. And while this is going on nobody moves. I mean this mentally unbalanced teenaged girl comes in and shoots two people. What should you do :
Option A :- stand and stare

OR

Option B: Run screaming out the house like a lunatic.
Personally I'd choose option B but the kids in the book decide to stay and watch .Don't get me wrong the plot of the book isn't bad. It's just not written well. There is to much sexual detail . It bugs me that Angela decides to get together with Mary's boyfriend.Ok I know everyone thinks that Mary has snapped but that doesn't give Angela that right. To go off with him.In the end everyone dies , even Kevin dies .Angela ,Mary and Kevin were good fiends. I was depending on him to save the day. Angela turns into the alien vampire fully transformed. The only thing stopping her from killing and devouring humans is the chain, the old indian man gave her. I do not recommend this book it is a waste of your time . I feel really bad saying that because I really like christopher Pike books.
I'd recommend Witch, Die softly and chain letter they're excellent.

Summary: A facinating novel of horror.
Review: Monster is one of the great books I have read. It fills with action and terror that draws readers' attention into the story, bringing great excitement in their imagination. It is about a young woman named Angela Warner who doesn't believe the fact that her boyfriend, Jim, and the high school students her best friend, Mary Carlson, had killed were actually monsters. Then, she later discovers the horror behind Jim's relationship with her. Feeling frightened and confused, she seems to go crazy, wondering whether she should let Mary keeps on killing while there is still time to stop the hungry thing from spreading.

As I was reading, all of the screams and blood through out the story facinates me, giving me the chills and shivers. It was so interesting that I couldn't stop reading it. If you are those who love horror stories and are in for a scare, I highly recommend it.

Summary: A skillfuly told tale indeed!
Review: Of all the novels I read when I was a teenager, this is one of the most memorable. It's perfectly in tune with modern teen thought, in particular concerning the "In-Crowd" that exists at every school (are they really a different species?!). It's a vividly told story, with an admirably bleak ending, the kind of which you rarely find in young teen appeal books.
