Rating: Summary: Awesome! Captivated my interest. :) Review: I LOVED this book! It rocked utterly and completely. I finished it in a matter of just 2 days. I could not stop reading. I really think they should have made this into an ep. That or Mr. Odom should start writing scripts for the show. What a talented writer. It's these books that make me miss poor Doyle even more though. Glenn was such a great actor in that role.... :( :::sniff, sniff::: I love the flashbacks and I thought the overall plot was great. Having Angel gain even more redemption by saving a victim he wronged in his Angelus days. Very creative. I highly recommend this book to any fan of the show. It rocks! Have I said that enough? LOL. :) Just go buy it already!
Rating: Summary: The Best Review: I read all 'Buffy' books, including the movie tie-in. I recently bought the first 'Angel' book and then I bought this one. "Redemption" was the best 'Angel' book I've ever read. I couldn't put this one down.
Rating: Summary: Redempton (Angel, Book 3) Review: I read this book about to months ago. Although some of the content in this book dosent macth the actull T.V show. I liked the way Angel, Cordelia, and Doyle work together to find out the truth about Whitney Tyler. And I also liked how Angel was able to help the person he thought he killed over two centuries ago.
Rating: Summary: pretty good... Review: okay, this book was pretty good. television star whitney tyler has people running after her because they think she is a vampire, whilst angel is having flash backs about a girl he fought on the handsome jack like 200 years ago. whats the connection? well, apparently whitney is the same person, and so angel gets this priest and tries an exorcism. well i dont even need to tell you the ending, because every angel book has a happy go lucky ending. after this book, im going to stop reading angel, ive already stopped watching the show. its just so.. boring, too serious. it just doesnt have the humour that buffy has!
Rating: Summary: Good story, good dialogue, some weaknesses in narrative Review: Overall, this was a pretty good book. The story was interesting, the dialogue true to the characters (for the most part) and the pacing good. The problem I had with the book is that it read like the author wrote it in one draft and then submitted it for printing without editing. You would read along for a couple of pages, really getting into it, and then a sentence would pop up that was awkwardly written or a descriptive word thrown in that would harshly snap you back to reality. An example of this would be during a fight scene where all of a sudden the author Odom describes Angel as scampering along. Angel may do may things, but he doesn't scamper. The other problem that I had was with Doyle's character meeting up with a loan shark and a seer. Both of these characters were interesting to a point, and the scenes were well written, but they ultimately had nothing to do with the story. They could have been written out completely and the rest of the story would have remained the same. In fact, the loan shark storyline is completely left dangling. He forgives Doyle's loan as long as Doyle agrees to introduce him to Angel. Interesting, you might think. And then you would read the rest of the book wondering what business this loan shark would have with Angel. But you would never find out, because Odom never goes back to this subplot. It is just left dangling at the end. Very disappointing. But getting past the occasional misplaced word or sentence and the subplot that goes nowhere, there was a lot of good in this book as well. For the most part the characters read like those in the show (which isn't always the case in tv tie-in novels)and the rest of the plot is pretty tight. The introductory scene hooks you right in, and for a while at least you are intrigued by the mystery woman who Angel had met and fought over a century ago and who is now not only still alive and well, but doesn't seem to recognize him. I bought this book at a garage sale for a quarter. I got my money's worth. I don't know if I would feel the same if I had picked it up at cover price.

Rating: Summary: Best Angel Book To Date! :) Review: This book is for all types of people. Even if you have never watched a single Buffy or Angel show. Even though I can't image a person who has not! Mr. Odom is a wonderful author and anyone can read and understand this book. This book stands on it's own. Fan's of both shows will love this book. Even Fans of Forever Knight will enjoy this book. If you like Vampires or just want to read a well written book then, stop looking because this is the book for you! This book is GREAT in every way and I can't wait to see more books by Mel Odom. He does a Perfect job with getting everything right and the flash backs are great and reminded me of my other favorite show Forever Knight. IT is just so wonderful and a book for all ages. :-)
