Rating: Summary: Another Golden winner. Review: I have been rereading some of my favorite Buffy books. Sins of the Father ranks right up there on the top of my list. Christopher Golden has a real talent for developing these characters. While Giles faces his most difficult foe, Buffy must fight demons both real and personal. Her old friend Pike returns. Angel wonders if he should step aside and let Buffy experience love with a human. Its a wonderful triangle of lovers old and new. The action of course is gripping. I enjoyed this even more with the second reading. I recommend this to all Buffy fans.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put this book down! Review: I loved this book so much! It is really exciting! If you are a fan of Buffy and Angel as a couple (which I am) you will begin to hate Pike (which I did) and really want him to leave. Angel is great in this book, he is really understanding. I actually cried in parts! If you love Buffy, you will really love this book! I totally recommend it! (And I am really picky about books, if it isn't good, I stop reading, but it definitly wasn't the case with Sins of the Father!)
Rating: Summary: Sins of the Father Review: In the past couple of years I have read a lot of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer books and this one, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Sins of the Father by Christopher Golden, has been the best so far. This book helps explain the connection between the movie and the TV series. The one character from the movie, Pike comes to Buffy and her gang, for help from the monster that has been following him. They all get together to defeat this "big-bad" like they always do. The past is pretty much revisited in this book. I would recommend this book to teenagers and those who like the TV series. It ties up a lot of loose ends between the movie and series, so those who wonder how they go together would now have the answers. This also is a pretty simple read, so for those looking for something not too difficult, this would be a great book.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down! Review: This book is the first book I've read from the Buffy novels and I was quite impressed. I felt as if I was actually watching the show. I read the book in one night so that should give you a hint that the book was a page turner! It was great to see Pike brought back from the movie version several years ago and inserting him into Buffy's current lifestyle and situation was written in perfection. I really disliked Pike from the film, but thanks to the book, I have a whole new appreciation for him. All Buffy fans should read this!
Rating: Summary: Woo hoo! Review: This book rocked! I loved the return oif Pike (who was my favorite character in the original movie) and the jealously Angel had. Ithought it was cool how it was mostly about Giles, you don't see that often. Anyway, awesome book, if you're a big fan of the series like I am, this is a must have!
Rating: Summary: Another awesome book from Christopher Golden Review: This book was by far my fav book out of the whole 'Buffy' bookseries, excluding the Gatekeeper Trilogy. But I know whenever a bookby Christopher Golden is coming out, that it's going to be most awesome. I was glad to see Pike at least get some closure. Ever since the movie, I've always wanted to know what happened. And also, a book that finally centered on Giles. The Giles plot line was SO AWESOME! I recommend this book to those who do not even watch the TV Series.
Rating: Summary: This should be a script for a NEW Buffy movie Review: This book was very well written. It was good to see that Christopher Golden brought parts of the original movie into the book. A face from Buffy's past enters back into Buffy's life unexpectedly. Her old flame from Los Angles. Pike( who was played by Luke Perry in the movie). This puts Buffy's love life into a spin when she has to decide which man she loves most, Angel or Pike. Pike's coming to Sunnydale was not personal, he needed Buffy's help to destroy a Stone Demon that he got really mad. All this and the usual magick from Willow, quiet coolness from Oz, fighting between Xander and Cordy, and the usual British remarks from Giles makes for some really good reading.
Rating: Summary: Finally.... Review: This further proves my point that Christopher Golden (and Nancy Holder) is the best author for Buffy books. Although this book dragged at parts (what 300+ page book doesn't?), it was the bright sun rays from a wonderful author onto a dull and gray landscape of deprived and starving Buffy fanatics wanting a good book. Sins of the Father focused a lot on Giles and Angel, which was a good and welcomed switch. I watched the original 1992 Buffy movie, and Pike was off character, but since he isn't a normal Buffy show character, we can let that one go. The final parts of the book were highly suspensful and I was eagerly reading, wishing my eyes and brain could process the words faster. I won't give anything away with this one. It is truly a Buffy masterpiece.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME ...A fast turn -pager! Could not put it down! A+++ Review: This was one of the best Buffy books! It showed how Buffy felt for Pike & Angel.. It was just so sweet. Giles was a major in this book.. and its good they finally focused something on him! But it was also about this Demon who could turn people to stone.. and was chasing Pike. So.. I give it a BIG A +++++++++
Rating: Summary: Buffyrific!!! Review: WOW - this book is pretty ... fantastic!!! With the reappearance of PIKE from the movie, as he comes to Sunnydale for Buffy's help from his pursuing killer Golem, it gives us a little more background of what Buffy got up to between the movie and series. Plus something from Giles past comes back to haunt him, thus revealing a little more about his character. Great characterisation for all the cast makes you feel like you're watching a movie length episode. Really cool twists, great monsters. This book is definitely recommended to everyone. Woohoo!!!
