Rating: Summary: The best book I have ever read Review: This is the best book I have ever read and I read a lot. I love the soulmate principle.
Rating: Summary: It's amazing and any word you could put to it! Review: I have read almost all the Night world books and this was my favourite one so far. I even cried at the part when the great Theirry decided and was willing to let Hannah go even if it took all his will-power and tore him apart. He knew if he let her go, he would feel empty and never know the word "happiness" again. This is a great and wonderful book about a pair of soulmates meant for each other but how they were tore apart from the very beginning of all their lives...... A definte must-read!!!
Rating: Summary: A fabulous book that everyone should read!! Review: Hannah, a senior at the nearest highschool, thinks that she is going nuts. She's finding notes that she has written all over her house that she doesn't remember writing. When her psychiatrist hypnotizes her, she begins to remember her past lives, in which she has been killed by a man who frightens her, but for some reason, she loves. When he, Thierry, reappears and tells her that he is a vampire, her life goes haywire. Suddenly there are werewolves and vampires popping out of the woodworks, and she turns away from Thierry. But by doing so, she is vulnerable to Maya, the first lamia, who would do anything to have her dead. A wonderful fantasy, with a very strong female lead. If you like romance stories with action, danger, and lots of supernatural stuff, you will absolutely love this book. ~Sunn
Rating: Summary: Soulmate, another prejudiced book for vampires and witches Review: Soulmate, the most recently mass produced Night World book, has the usual vampires and witches, though L.J. did put in some head honchos of the Night World. But what about the other "creatures of the night"? WE, as dark elves, don't particularly like being left out. Neither do shapeshifters, so Ms. Smith better watch out. Her potted plants might just become a bit more animated than usual. WE have nothing to fear from humans, because no one would believe in a secret society woven through human society, and WE are masters at "fitting in." Besides, what would anyone of us like in a human? The soulmate principle is dead. Let the Old Powers kill us before making us love a human
Rating: Summary: Best author ever!!! Review: Don't listen to the people who are tired of the soulmate princible. I personally love it, and you will too. I hope that she will keep writing more books, because i will never tire of these and I know you won't eighther
Rating: Summary: This book is AWESOME!! Review: As always L.J. Smiith has written an incredible story. This is my favorite of the Night World books so far. But I'm biassed since I think of L.J. Smith as one of the BEST authors ever. A total must-read
Rating: Summary: My favorite! Review: This is my favorite Night World book. Something about this book draws in more than any other book in the series--so far. Maybe it's because I love to read about past lives and undying love. I don't know. Even though I am a little tired of the soulmate principle, all the Night World books are excellent. A definite reader! Can't wait till the next one
Rating: Summary: Good, but not good enough!! Review: This book alone would have been outstanding. Magnificent!! A jewel amongst the muddy pebbles of non-Smith books. Beautifully descriptive, with the perfect combination of romance and mystery, and the thrill of danger, with just the right touches in the right places to make it perfect.
Unfortunately, this "soulmate principle" is getting a little old. For six books, including this, there have been goody-goody vampires/witches meeting goody-goody human soulmates, falling in love, and surviving against all odds. (No werewolves, because they're too stupid to be a soulmate, I guess. Is that racism or prejudice?) It's almost always the same; guy/girl meets girl/guy, complicities come up, and at the end, guy/girl and girl/guy promise to be faithful and never kill again. Of course, the other people don't have soulmates. The "bad" people, like Maya or Hunter Redfern. Or Jeremy, the werewolf. Then, of course, only the witches and vampires of the Redfern family find soulmates. There are no other kinds of soulmates, which is allowed for because the series is supposed to talk about the Night World and human soulmates. But that doesn't mean that everything in the Night World is excluded from the souldmate principle except for the vampires and witches!!
The excitement of the series is really wearing off at a fast rate, because of the obvious pattern between the books.
However well-written they are, it doesn't make up for the serious flaw and the lack of plot between the books. They are, more or less, a very old story being told six different ways, and soon to be seven. Joy.
Rating: Summary: i loved it Review: i love all of L.J. Smith's books, but I yhink this is the best one by far. it was the first one i read. i also read Dark Angel, Secret Vampire, and the one with the witches. they are all good
Rating: Summary: Great author! Great book!! Review: Hannah is a normal girl with a normal life, until she writes notes to herself warning herself of the sure-to-come danger. It's then she believes she is going crazy, and meets a psychiatrist who regresses her into her past lives. But she's not sure if she wants to know anymore. Until He comes. I absolutly love this book. L.J Smith is the best author ever!!!! The way that Hannah gets so confused over her feelings for Thierry makes me even more excited to find out what is going to happen in the end. Also, I love the way L.J Smith brought up Old Souls and reincarnation in this book, and how Hannah always dies before she turns seventeen
