Rating: Summary: great characterization Review: "Visitors" , while not the scariest of the YA titles in the Buffy series, captures the characters as well, if not better, than the other YA Buffy novels. You'd expect to hear some of this dialogue in a script written by one of the shows regular authors.
Rating: Summary: Good characters, bad story Review: "Visitors" really had good potential. The characters were so true to form, I thought the author did her homework well! She had a wonderful idea for the next obstacle Buffy had to face, but it just fell flat at the end. This is one of those books that maybe could've been better if the author had more room to write. I really did love the portrayl of each character. She had the slang without over doing it, and sometimes I just enjoyed the conversations among the Scooby Gang that really had nothing to do with the story itself. Plus, she didn't overdo the Angel/Buffy relationship, either.
Rating: Summary: Not one of the best Review: Buffy is being stalked - by a creature with a sinister giggle and an unpleasant way of making its victims dance themselves to death. At first the beast's attention seems focussed solely on the slayer when bodies turn up, the deceased all having died in suspicious circumstances. With time running out, Buffy and her friends must figure out the identity of the creature. But why has it come to Sunnydale, and what is the connection with a group of student teachers? Having just read "Unnatural Selection" by Mel Odom, I was expecting Visitors to be just as good and unfortunately I was disappointed. There just seemed to be something missing from this book. The inclusion of the student teachers seems to serve very little purpose and the synopsis is misleading in suggesting that they are part of the evil that takes place. The characterisation was excellent, but there was little plot and the story just wasn't exciting or scary enough to keep you reading. Overall, this wasn't one of the best Buffy books, but it was still pretty good, although I enjoyed it because of the series and not for the book itself. I would recommend this to all fans of the series.
Rating: Summary: Dance of death Review: Contrary to what other reviewers have written about this book i liked it. I found it very entertaining and i dont know what all the talk of no plot line is as i definately read one. True Ethan Rayne was thrown in for no reason at all but that did not make the book bad. I liked the fact that this one didnt fully focus on Buffy killing creatures from the dark side, but focused somewhat on her life with her friends. This is one of the best "Buffy" books that i have read, and i recomend it to all who like the show.
Rating: Summary: THROUGHLY ENJOYABLE. Review: Contrary to what other reviewers have written about this book i liked it. Rating: Summary: Not as I expected... Review: I give it 2 stars becasue once the charecters where portrayed as well as they are on the small screne. The problem was the story line wasn't strong as I would like it to be and it was quite borning in my opinion. Thank gooddness it was short. I don't reccomend reading this book unless you are a Buffy Obsessive.
Rating: Summary: Buffy the Vamp. Slayer: Visitors. Good book. Review: I have just finished reading the book "Buffy the Vampire Slayer:Visitors". I found it good but it could have been ever so slightly better. I thought this because it showed from different points of views but on some did not show enough insight. The summary is: Buffy is being stalked by a mytholigical creature who dances it`s victims to death. And it has it`s eyes on Buffy. While this is happening a member of the council comes in for a visit and a group of student teachers visits Buffy`s school.
Rating: Summary: NOT THE BEST "BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER" BOOK I'VE READ. Review: I HAVE READ ALMOST ALL OF THE "BUFFY" BOOKS AND I MUST SAY THAT I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. IT IS RIGHT UP THERE WITH "HALLOWEEN RAIN". AS FAR AS THE CHARACTERS WERE DISPLAYED VERY WELL, BUT THE PLOT WAS FARSTRECTHED AND UNIMAGINABLE.
Rating: Summary: The book isn't good Review: I have read almost all of the Buffy books, and i love them, but i thought that this book was very boring and slow. It portrays the charcters very well, but the plot is dumb.
Rating: Summary: One of the Worst I've Read Review: I kept hoping and hoping this book would get better, but it didn't. The threat to the Scoobies was not intriguing, the characters, while not terribly written were also not at their most accurate, and the ending was quite anticlimactic. I found myself skimming most of this dull novel. Only read if you're a huge Buffy fan, and do not make this your first Buffy novel.
