Summary: A fantastic original novel!
Review: (I love the fact that they included Angel's return and her still loving him. She knows she can never love anyone else. When she and Ian kissed, I was like, WHAT THE HELL? Maybe she's trying to forget about him.) OK, the gyst of this book is that after Buffy has returned, the whole routine of boring vamp slaying begins again. Well, a mysterious figure shows up with a crossbow and kills the remaining vamps. Right then, the plot headed for a different turn in the road. Four Druids show up and they have come to close the Hellmouth permanently. I mean, like, never opened again. Several things happen during this story: A vampire puts Cordelia under a spell, Ian is in love with Buffy, the head Druid forms an alliance with a vampire, and Giles and Willow search for clues to what will happen if the Hellmouth opens. But the details lay between the pages.

Summary: The use of the Druids was very good
Review: After "Child of the Hunt" by Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder, this book was a bit of a let down. It was still pretty decent though. I am still waiting for the time when the writers of the "Buffy" TV show and the "Buffy" books start rehashing old storylines. However, so far that has not happened. The use of Druids in this book was very compelling.

Summary: A bit of a dissapointment
Review: Druids in Sunnydale. The idea is not without merit, and definately had possibilities. Unfortunately this author was unable to brings those possibilities into his writing. Familiar characters didn't quite ring true, and new ones were underdeveloped to the point of being almost uninteresting. Eventually the storyline does pick up, but I'll admit I was tempted to just leave the story unfinished.

Possibly worth the read for die hard fans, but this isn't one for your collection, folks. If you absolutely can't live without reading this, use your library card.

Summary: Fantastic Read
Review: Great Book. Detailed and connects to the T.V show. Its about time there is a vampire novel that isnt dark. Instead it is funny with its pop culture refrences.

Summary: One of the worst...
Review: Honestly, when I read the blurb on the inside back cover of 'Child of the Hunt', I was quite excited to find and read it. I had no idea that I would be so disappointed. The story moves slowly, and the dialogue totally unfitting with the characters. No doubt, the plot was interesting, especially when one reads the blurb, but where exactly was the part where Xander and Oz also fall 'victim to this new spell'? If they're talking about the new vampires and their involvement in the plot, aren't they a little too off? I'm normally a great fan of Buffy books, no doubt I was a bit put off after 'Night of the Living Rerun', but after the better ones like 'Blooded' and 'Child of the Hunt', I was hoping that the series would improve. Let's just hope that the upcoming Gatekeeper Trilogy will save the series of books, and that Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder, the greatest Buffy writers thus far, will do a great job again.

Summary: Quite simply a mess
Review: Hoo boy ... The author appears to have very little knowledge of BtVS, which would be acceptable if he offered an exciting plot or good writing, which he does not. I like the idea of druids running around Sunnydale, but nothing really happens to justify their presence. Give it a miss.

Summary: BTVS is not the Hardy Boys!
Review: I hate to add another neg. review but what the hell. This book read like a Hardy Boys book. That is fine if your 9 years old but these are supposed to be suitable for adults, aren't they? However, as others said, my love of the show compels me to read the books. Child of the Hunt was far superior, especially as it was rather ADULT.

Summary: Not the best Buffy book in the world.
Review: I have read a few Buffy books and plan to read more, but this one was by far the worst of the ones I've read. The part with her falling in love with a Druid just screwed things up. It wasn't as exciting as any of the others I've read. But I guess it could have been worse.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Definitely not the best
Review: I have read other Buffy books but this one just doesn't compare to them. The characters were written differently than from the show and the plot was very slow-moving and didn't make much sense. There was also a subplot with Cordelia and a vampire that had nothing to do with the main story. I would definitely advise people to skip this book but not all of the Buffy books. I have read some excellent ones such as Halloween Rain.

Summary: Could This Book Get Any Slower?
Review: I have to admit, I almost didn't finish this book. It's so slow that by the end, I was hardly even interested in what was going to happen. But I spent five bucks on the book, and I was determined to get my money's worth. I should have just waited until it came to the library and read it for free. So much continuity from the series if just thrown out for no reason, and Craig Shaw Gardner never manages to get the dialogue to sound right and not lame. And I kept praying that the vampire Gloria would get staked already - the most annoying character easily to ever set foot in Sunnydale. Save your money and buy Out Of The Madhouse instead: the way a Buffy book OUGHT to be.
