Rating: Summary: Mesmerizing!! It'll take your breath away!! Review: I found the book, The Silver Kiss, too good to be true. It captured my mind and imagination. And I am NOT ashamed to admit that I was obssesed with it! I couldn't stop thinking about it. After and while I was reading it. It brought out an emotion I didn't know was there. This book is a combination of horror, romance, suspense and everything included in a WONDERFUL book. I would recommend anyone who is looking for a good, page-turner to read this book.
Rating: Summary: Definately, the best book I've ever read! Review: It's been a while since I've read a book that wasn't for school. So when I was at Barnes & Noble looking through the Young Adult section two days ago, something just kept drawing me back to the book. The fact that it's won several awards and had wonderful reviews on the inside cover also convinced me into getting it. I started reading it that night, and I instantly fell in love. The characters were so awesome, and the pages were going by so fast. I never wanted the story to end, and especially not the way it did. Even though the author may have stretched some details about how vampires are, it doesn't matter. It's her book and I love the way she wrote it. I wouldn't change anything. The way the author used imagery, suspense, and foreshadowing kept me hooked the whole way. It's action packed, romantic, and absolutely a beautiful story. By the time I got to the end this afternoon, I was in tears. Not just because of what happened, but because the story was over. I'll never forget "The Silver Kiss." It will always have a special place in my heart. And I plan on reading it again. I would recommend this story to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Young, sweet and beautiful Review: I found this book to be very...creative. I have read a great deal of vampire stories/novels and this one drew me in very quickly. At the end, it left me wanting more, wanting to romance not to end. It is very well written and great for the romantic at heart.
Rating: Summary: It's held up over time Review: I remember reading this book as a kid, when it first came out. I enjoyed it then, and was pleasantly surprised when my fiancé's sister loaned to me with a whole slew of other young adult novels. One of the things I liked then and now is that the characters have depth to them. Zoe has to deal with her mother dying of cancer and her father not being around much. Simon has Christopher to deal with, as well as being a vampire. Lorraine is moving to Oregon, and has troubles talking about Zoe's mom. All the characters have problems, and it gives them more depth. You don't have the tortured teen, her sidekick best friend, and the lonely vampire. One thing that did trouble me is despite Simon's age, he seemed immature. Instead of your normal, more knowledgeable vampire, he still seemed like a lost child. You'd think after 300 years he'd have some polish, and that a pretty, lost-looking girl wouldn't unmake him so quickly. Christopher was a bit troublesome as well. I guess 300 years of looking like you're 6 will take its toll, but he still seemed like a child. I knew he used that to get his prey, but it seems like it was too hard for him to shake when he would encounter Simon. After 14 years this book didn't hold me as well as it did when I was 10, but it's still an enjoyable read, and worth perusing if you enjoy vampire novels.
Rating: Summary: This was a lovely book. Review: I'm not going to say what this book is about. There are plenty of those already. I agree with most of the other reviews about this book. I picked it up not knowing anything about this author or her writing style. Even though it is a bit young for me I thought that I just might enjoy it. I must say that I did. It has some witty humor, a small love story, and a little bit of violence. Everything I look for in a book. The only thing I really didn't like was the way it ended. It makes Simon look selfish in his decision. I won't say what he did. You have to read the book to find out. If you want something easy and light to read pick this up.
Rating: Summary: A Cherished Favorite Review: I loved this book! I have read it at least 4 times! The story is a mixture of sadness, romance, loss, and life goals. This story could only have been better if the 2 main characters could have been together at the end (I mean this in any way it could have happened--even if Simon did what he did at the end--you'll have to read it to understand what I mean). Although, the ultimate point of Zoe's encouter with Simon was for her to be helped with her mother's situation so that she could move on with her life. I wish the book would have told how or what Zoe did after that final dawn in the book.
I say to everyone grab this book and read it! You'll not regret it. A little sappiness never hurt anyone :)
Rating: Summary: Best Vampire Book Ever! Review: This book was unlike any other vampire book I have ever read. It reflected the feelings and emotions of both Zoe and Simon, the main characters. The plot was, that Simon, a vampire, needs help from Zoe to stop his evil brother, trapped in a child's body, from killing more people. I think that I fell in love with Simon from the beginning, which is pretty crazy because he's a character in a book! I could relate to Zoe, because cancer had struck my family, and we had better luck than Zoe's mother. It was not only a vampire book, but a book that showed the troubles a family goes through when a loved one is dying, and how easily a family can fall apart.
Rating: Summary: One of the best vampire books I've ever read Review: It's a very dark and sad story which sparks sadness within you as you read it. We meet 17 year old Zoe. Anything that can go wrong has gone wrong in her life. Her mother is dying, her best friend is moving away, and she's becoming more estranged with her father. One random night, she meets a peculiar boy and in time she learns that he is a vampire that has been living for centuries in anguish. They bond and she ends up helping him in trying to kill his evil brother.
I read the book in about 4-5 hours. The author writes so vividly and everything flows so well that it's an easy read. I felt like so much happened in such a small book. I feel like I'm Zoe when I'm reading it. It was sort of hard to fight back the tears as I was reading it. Seeing her mother deteriorate while at the same time, not being able to be with her as much as she wants to. She has to take on a lot of responsibility at a young age. I really did enjoy reading about the closeness of Zoe and Simon though. It was really sweet. Of course, I never get the endings I want when I read the good vampire stories, but maybe it's better that way. It allows me to appreciate it more for what it was. I totally recommend this book. It says that it's for the young adult crowd, but there were mature enough themes in it for the more mature audience to read, I felt.

Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: Annette Curtis Klause is one of my fave authors, but this book is definitely not one of her good books. Zoe is the daughter of a woman dying of cancer. Zoe feels as if she's isolated, etc. She meets a boy in the park, Simon and becomes good friends with him. Simon turns out to be a vampire. Simon's brother, Christopher, is supposedly evil and Simon's life purpose is to kill him. Zoe decides to help. The end is disappointing and it seems so... stupid!! I love books or basicly anything about vampires and it's all very interesting to me, but this book is not a good one. Boring. Over-dramatic. Stupid. ~(...)
