Rating: Summary: Great if you like Buffy Review: Off course, if you don't like Buffy, why would you even think about buying this book ?!?
It has a lot of those great Buffy quotes in it that made the show so much fun to watch, neatly categorized (very Giles or early Willow) per character or on different topics, such as love, war, friends, relationships... And some pictures in the middle.
But, like some other reviewers said: there are some mistakes in it. But it's still a really funny book, makes you relive all those funny moments, always good for a laugh !
Rating: Summary: Nice Compilation But Not For Fanatics Review: Quotable Slayer is a compilation of quotes and memorable dialogue from Buffy Season 1 to Season 7. Its organized into sections such as Buffy On... and Quotable Slayer (about Slayers. Its very well organized and small enough to carry around in your bag where ever you go. The choice of quotes is good. There are a few minor errors. It includes full color photos. A highlight is the Quotable Intro which is a nice intro to the book. I would recommend this for fans who'd like to remember things about the show, but for die hard fanatics, this book is not a necessity. You'd probably be able to rant of quotes off your mind right now without the book. Overall, the book is nice but not something that stands out or a necessity for fans at all.
Rating: Summary: A Good Compilation Review: The Quotable Slayer is a wonderful book for any fan of Buffy. It's got all the favorite quotes spanning over the entire seven season. It's broken down into easy to follow categories with the quotes displayed in the show's sequential order. It also gives which show it's from so you can go back to that particular show - either on tv or in your head - and remember the entire scene. Even if you're relatively new to the world of Buffy, this is the perfect book to get caught up on the series. By the quotes used, it goes through the series without giving any of mysteries of the show away for those who haven't seen certain episodes or even seasons. If you never pick up another book about Buffy the Vampire Slayer, this should be the one you read.
Rating: Summary: Not Enough To Sink Your Teeth Into Review: There are many things that the cult phenomenon known as "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" is praised for. It's acting. Direction. Effects. Make-up. And, oh, just about everything else. But what stands tall the most is the writing. The pain. The love. The humor. The horror. The adventure. The action. It has been widely praised for it's entire seven season run as one of the best, smartest, and most cleverly written show on TV. And rightfully so. The show could do a punch line or a joke better than any other show, and pretty much most sitcoms. It could make you bust a gut, think, cry, or any other kind of emotion. And so, it is only fitting that the genius of the show's writing and it's best dialogue get it's due with it's own book. Sadly, the end result, this book, isn't the holy grail of "Buffy" writing that one would of hoped. It is pretty cheaply done and seems to of been sput out rather fast and without much thought or care for the finished product. It's a short book, and one you could probably read in one sitting. It gives you the lines and who said them and in what episode and that's that. The book and it's creators should of taken a lesson from the two "Watcher's Guide" books and been more creative. They should of threw in different categories, explained situations about where the dialogue came from and what the situation was, and so on. There are many lines in here that I don't see any reason for being included, and some that I loved that were not here. It's a colorless, humanless book that could of used some pictures as well. I guess it's okay for what it is, and will be satisfactory for now, until someone along the way realizes that the writing and it's best dialogue deserve something better than this chintzy little book. It's original purpose was great, but the way they did it was half fisted and probably not worth the money for the real fans. It is just fine for newbies, but otherwise, I didn't find it to be what I wanted it to be and what it should of been.
Rating: Summary: Incorporate Buffy into your real life! Review: This book is a must have for Buffy fans and for fans of good one liners. For 7 seasons, buffy has slayed us with her wit, one liners, lingo and slayerspeak. Now this book has taken those best lines and put them in a convenient place-the quotes are arranged by categories and also by what episode they are from (great for fans to remember those memorable moments). Also, this book has some great photos to help you remember one of your all time favorite shows that will not be forgotten. Long time fans of Buffy will surely find most of their favorite lines, but they couldn't include it all (there is just too many..the book would end up to be the size of a telephone book!!) That's all for me...Bored now..(evil willow)
Rating: Summary: Quote Book For the Buffy Geek Review: This book is just so much fun. It has some of the best Buffy the Vampire Slayer quotes. Well organized because it goes by characters and character status. Could have been more detailed by scenes. However, all , and all. Excellent keep sake.
Rating: Summary: The Writers must have been insane kids... Review: This book rocks. Although some of the quotes arent exactly like those in the show, including Angels little sidenote after he kills Jenny and everyone finds out, but its still pretty accurate and absolutely hilarious. I loved this book, the only thing that ticked me off is that it didnt have Riley's confession of love to Buffy and saying that she doesnt love him. I loved that line. But basically definately something to buy if you are a Buffy Fan like myself.
Rating: Summary: Great Quotes From The Scoobies Review: This is a fun source for Buffy fans who love quottes. A lot of them are quircky and funny.
Rating: Summary: Remember that time...? No, me neither. Review: This is an interesting concept, and it's not bad for the price. I just wish they'd done a better job editing the book before rushing it out. There's a few quotes that are attributed to the wrong episode. That's not so dire, though. They did that in the Watcher's Guides, too. No big deal. What bothers me is that there are quotes in the book that never made it on air. It seems their only source material was the shooting scripts, instead of actually watching the episodes. I really wasn't ready to see Tara's "Sweetie, I'm a fag." from the 'Dead Things' script be released commercially yet.
