Summary: A Great Book in the Series
Review: Let me first say that as soon as I received the e-mail that Dark Legend was in store I ran out right a way to buy it. I went to 4 bookstores before I could find a copy and read the book in 1 1/2 days (only because I work).

However, I did enjoy the book and I like the new hero and heroine. I enjoy reading about a strong Carpathian female with her own powers (although for someone who claims she was ancient she needed a lot of support from her mate to heal and stuff). I love the compassion she showered upon the young child, the support and caring Gabriel showed for his mate. I also love the gut wrenching caring and devotion between the twins; the way the took care of each other and the self-sacrificing act they did. The bond betweem each other, the brilliant dialogue, and the power those two have make this book better than the others (except Dark Magic). Although, I think that Gabriel jump the gun too soon in doing what he did the ending was to my satisfaction.

But once again I felt that Christine took something away from his character once he met his life mate. I mean his is supposed to be an ancient, powerful and strong yet; his character is reduce to more of a passive type of person.

I have to say though that the chemistry between Francesca and Gabriel was better than Dark Fire and After Twilight but it was missing the intensity and love in that of Dark Magic.

But, did loved the "Evil" brother's role in the book. I really enjoyed reading about how powerful and strong Lucian is and the actions he took. I'm looking forward to reading his story in Dark Guardian although; the cover does not do him justice. I have to say that Gregory and Now Lucian are my favorite heroes. I hope that his book does him justice.

I give 4 ½ stars to Dark Legend. However, I still think to this day that Dark Magic is the best Dark Series Book written. I will continue to read Christine's Dark Series book because still to this day no author comes to her standings (creative, unusual characters, passionate, romantic, etc.) I see that she only has two more Dark Series book to come and I can't wait.

A Devoted Fan

Summary: Dark Lagend
Review: I have read each and every one of Ms Feehan's Dark Series. They keep getting better and better. The story of the Legendary Gabriel and his true lifemate had excellent twists and unexpected turns. I stayed up all night just to finish this one. I couldn't put it down! Ask my husband!

Summary: Chinese Water Torture
Review: I swore after Dark Fire that I would never read another Carpathian story, but kept hearing this one was different. It's not. Big tough he-man sees girl, takes her against her will and forces her to be his regardless of what she wants (and it's for her own good. Thanks, Dad). Same old bodice-ripping garbage that I thought this genre had shed.

Repitious writing and escalating violence make this book hard to endure. The rules of the world are ever changing (meaning the writer needs to to start writing down what she tells us because in every book she seems to forget what laws she made about her world in the previous book) while the characters are not. Same hero, same heroine + graphic violence + no setting = BORING BOOK. As for the surprise ending? So lame, I'm still in recovery.

Summary: The best gets better
Review: Christine Feehan has set up the "Dark" series to show a little more about their race with each book. Each book tells about their need to find a solution to their main problem, no female children. With each book she adds a puzzle piece to their solution. I think this heroine will play a major role in helping keep new female children alive through their 1st year with the research she has done. I loved this book best of all because it had one of the best endings ever. In response to one reader's disgust about how the teenager storyline was handled, no one who read this book got hot reading about how this poor girl was treated. And it was not meant to be taken that way.

Summary: Every Woman's Dream
Review: Christine Feehan, via her Dark series, has, it seems to me, connected with every woman's secret dream of a gentle and compassionate lover possessed of the desire to protect the woman he loves from any type of harm...I love this series, and I admire Christine's ability to capture the very essence of what women, whether we will admit it or not, really want from our "lifemates". Brava!

Summary: Those Luscious Twins!!!
Review: I have eagerly awaited the story regarding the legendary ~ mythical twins of the Carpathians. I am happy to say that Dark Legend does not disappoint and was well worth the wait.

Gabriel, one of the legendary twins, awakens in a Paris cemetary after feeling the ground move above him. He has spent centuries upon centuries hunting his beloved twin, Lucian. Long ago, both of them made a pledge to each other. If one should turn, the other would hunt and destroy him. After one ferocious battle, Gabriel locked Lucian deep within the earth. Now, with the ground above them moving, all has changed.

He knows that he hasn't risen alone. He feels the ground shift and knows that Lucian has awoken. With a ferocious hunger to equal his own . . .

Gabriel is consumed with a fierce, unholy hunger. He is so very close to turning and is consumed with the "need" to feed. He encounters Francesca Del Ponce who is a gifted healer and harbors another secret. She sees Gabriel, senses his incredible need and offers to help him. An action which clearly takes him by surprise and seals her fate for all time!

I don't want to give anything away in Dark Legend but it is filled with incredibly written characters such as Skyler. The young girl's pain and anguish was very tangible to the reader. Hopefully, we can read more about her in another Dark book. <G>

Anyhow, the deadly game between Gabriel and Lucian unravells until we (the reader) finally understand what the "game" was all about. Lucian is introduced and boy, what another dark and dangerous Carpathian Christine has created! :)

The unending loyalty and devotion that Gabriel feels for his twin was almost heartbreaking in its intensity. He agonizes over fulfilling the vow he had made to him, agonizes over the fact that one day he would be forced to destroy him.

The ending was incredible filled with the healing power of love and redemption! I, for one, can hardly wait to read Dark Guardian.

Highly recommended!!

Summary: Another Winner with Dark Legend!!, 10 Stars
Review: Dark Legend's love story about the legendary twin Vampire Hunter Gabriel & his lifemate Francesca will move you so emotionally, it will rock your world. The author will have you feeling the timeless & unselfish love these two have for each other. As Gabriel goes off to War with the vampires, he knows he may not come back. Although he makes Francesca promise to live on and raise their children in love so that they may remember him thru her, she does not know whether she can go thru the centuries alone again with her heart & soul ripped out without her love, Gabriel.
You will also experience Gabriel's pain & the unconditional love he has for his twin Lucian who has lost his battle with the beast within & turned vampire. In order to honor their mutual vow, Gabrielle is faced with the heart breaking task of destroying his beloved twin. Although Lucian is now a vampire, it does not lessen their twin connection & unequivocal love & respect for each other. For centuries Lucian fought beside Gabriel, taught him everything, sacrificed his own life many times. Killing Lucian would be killing his other half.... Want more? Buy the book & enjoy!

Christine's Dark works are unique because every book is a stand alone and yet a sequel in an unending yet fascinating Carpathian society. When you read a sequel, you have a special feeling toward the book like being part of something or putting a puzzle together. She works hard to keep her work alive and buzzing by interacting with every fan as well as participating in numerous chat groups. Although she still rewards her adoring fans with other great stories when certain sequels cannot be published, she reassures us and at times tease us so that we still feel connected to the Carpathian world.

Summary: FANTASTIC! TOUCHES YOUR SOUL! Makes you want to HELP OTHERS!
Review: I own and have read ALL of Ms. Feehan's wonderful books. She is a TRULY GIFTED WRITER!! This book is absolutely one of her best and a definite KEEPER!

In Dark Legend, she draws you in so deeply that you live and love and FEEL the emotions of the characters. One of the things I most loved about this book was the way she treats with true compassion and caring, the story of a young abused girl.

Ms. Feehan champions the girl from the first moment you learn of her plight. As a reader, you are drawn to the girl and feel compelled to help her. In so doing, Ms. Feehan raises a conscious thought within her readers for children in real life who have been abused and in need of understanding and love. Ms. Feehan makes you want to DO something to help the children of our society, not just turn a blind eye or fill your efforts with empty rhetoric. THANK YOU, Ms. Feehan for a superb read and an even more important prod to our society's conscience to cherish and care for the children around us!
