Summary: When too much originality is a bad thing...
Review: I started reading this book and thought it was one of the best Chirstopher Pike books around. I never read about a pryromaniac before and thought it was an interesting topic. Then around page 100, the story starts to take a nose-dive from which is only barely recovers from. The alien plot in the book seemed to unrealistic for this book and the story isn't all that plausible to begin with. Still, no one has a track record like Mr. Pike. This is the only book of his that I haven't liked. And when is he coming out with a new book? I hope "The Grave" isn't his last book...

Summary: Not Too Shabby
Review: I'm a huge Pike fan. His subject matter has changed with time, that's true, but it has changed for th better. He has gone from straight out horror to more intelectual and spiritual writing. While 'Magic Fire' is a bit confusing, it is also a very good book. You can never tell what is going to happen next. A must for any Pike fan.

Summary: Gifted Writer
Review: I'm sure this will be very good . . . when it comes out. Pike is a very gifted writer, who, even though he may write about sex all the time, also writes people the way they truly act and behave. So, order it!

Summary: I still haven't finished it.
Review: In general, I love Christopher Pike. So when I bought this book I was really excited. I got half way through and gave up on it. It was just so boring. I couldn't understand what everything had to do with each other. And it was too weird for me. For a good Christopher Pike read, I recommend the Midnight Club, instead.

Summary: Fantastic!!
Review: It was a great book, a little confusing at first, but it was intruiging and I couldn't put it down. Finished it in a couple of hours. Christopher Pike is a master of Sci-Fi/Fantasy writing. Still WAITING for sequel to the Cold One. Wouldn't mind a few more Adult novels.

Summary: C. Pike will always rock in my book...
Review: Just finished Magic Fire and it kicked!! It wasn't as confusing as everyone is saying...Maybe that's because I'm 21, don't know...As always, Pike has written another book in which I will proudly display in my collection!! This is an excellent read for just about anyone...:):):)

Summary: Pike's Best Book Yet!
Review: Magic Fire is a great book, if a bit confusing at times. I liked the way the story twisted around and how Mark and Jessa jumped from one place to another. This book went so fast I could hardly keep up! The ending was a bit dissapointing, but I have to admit, it was the only ending for the story. This is certainly a must for any Pike fan.

And by the way, I am NOT illiterate, nor are any other reviewers here!

Summary: Actually, I give it a 0 star
Review: My long wait for this book ended in such a terrible dissappointment. The book was very confusing and utterly boring. I haven't even finished it yet and don't know if I even want to. I am so sick of this sci-fi, alien, vampire crap he's writing. Mr. Pike please stick to books like Gimme A Kiss, Weekend, Execution of Innocence and Fall Into Darkness. These are truly your best works and some of my most favorite books. Stay away from books such as Magic Fire, The Starlight Crystal, and The Tachyon Web or you will forever have lost a fan and reader.
