Summary: Excellent
Review: I really liked this book. I thought it was hilarious that LaCroix was leader of the human underground. Great book, go out and buy it. Or buy it online from Amazon.com.

Summary: A Worthy Read
Review: I see by past reviews that it's been a while since anyone new read or reviewed this book here at Amazon... I recalled seeing Susan Garrett a number of years ago at Shore Leave, but, like a dunce, I did not purchase her book at that time and have it autographed. (Hope springs eternal that she will return someday to Shore Leave.)

As to the story itself, well, as we know, Detective Knight has been searching for, what, 800 years, for a way to regain his mortality. He is given quite an interesting way in this finely-written novel - but these things never come without a price. I found the storyline difficult to follow at first, but once I got the hang of it, it proved to be incredibly intense and very, very clever. Whether you buy from the bookstore or from the Goodwill, go ahead and get yourself a copy. You won't be disappointed.

And in the meantime, I'll watch for Geraint Wyn Davies in the SciFi Channel's new show, "Tracker."

Summary: Fan's perspective
Review: I was elated to find this book when it was brand new and I read it in less then two days. I just finished reading it again and it has lost none of its magic. Thanks Susan!

Summary: It Lacks depth and substance for her characters
Review: I was hoping to find something thatwould draw me into this story...but asa person not familiar with the tv series I found it a bit difficult toattract the masses to get involved withthe characters...too limited to reach the rest of us who did not follow thisseries and to reach a broader reading audience. I suppose it will attract those who know the series but for the rest of us it's too limited.

Summary: I loved it!
Review: I've read two of the FK books and this is my favorite.

Nick gets a doll which is supposed to help him become human, but there's a price... The doll causes him to dream of an alternate world and each time he dreams he physically becomes more human, but... (hint?)

Tho' the dreams in the book are simular to a TV episode where Nick dreamed everthing was turned upside down (switching peoples lives and personalities) - these dreams also switch the physical making vampires human and humans vampires.

The rest of the book was interesting, but I especially loved the dream sequences. Here Nick, LaCroix, a briefly Janette are human and the world is ruled by vampires. Nick is still a cop - one of the few who are still human. Natalie is a vampire and wants to bring him across. But LaCroix is the best character of all as the leader of the human resistance.

I previously read "A Stirring of Dust" and felt like I was being dragged thru the dust. There was little mystery and even the main character "Nick" couldn't seem to stir up any enthusiasum for the hunt.

This book, tho', moved quickly along - keeping my attention. I couldn't wait to see how it ended and my only regret is that it ended too soon.

Here's hoping Ms. Garrett writes more...

Summary: I had one fine "Knight" with this book!
Review: It took a while to get into. . .maybe the first ten words! It was an excellent book. Once I got started reading, I couldn't put it down! I was up until 4:00 a.m. reading it! Susan Garrett has out done herself with this one.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I stayed up all Knight to read this book.
Review: It's been Forever since I read a book half as absorbing as this one! It's tightly written, suspenseful and creative, with a powerful conflict, and an even more powerful conclusion. Brief snatches of comedy relieve tense situations in the nick of time, while still allowing for the seriousness of the drama to shine through. What I like most, however, is the crossed circumstances shown in the dreams. An excellent book from an excellent writer. You'll be glad if you only have it to get you through the day.

Summary: YES!!!!!!!!!
Review: Jeez, this is a great book. I can't really say just how good it is. I couldn't put it down at all. In fact, I got in trouble! Anyway, the entire storyline is great, the characters are portrayed perfectly, and it kept me wondering till the end. The altertnate realities play nicely. I always thought it would be interesting if Nat could be in Nick's shoes for once. As a fan of Susan Garrett, as a fan of Forever Knight, and an avid reader, I loved it alot! I wish I could give the book 7 stars!

Summary: Wonderful characterization and depth
Review: Ms. Garrett has an accurate grasp of the Forever Knight characters and a very accessible style of writing. At the same time, her plot is very original and allows her to look at those characters from a unique angle and a fresh viewpoint. As television novelizations go, this was a cut above the norm. I sincerely hope to see another effort from this author in the near future!
