Review: After reading "Elixar" by Gary Braver, I searched for more from this compelling author and found "A Stone Circle" written earlier under another name Gary Goshgarian. For those of you who find interest in the dark side of man I suggest taking the time to revel in the story telling of Gary's unique style.
Mysterious and revealing into the hidden darkness of the human soul told in a fictional setting off the Boston coast line. Gary again held me spellbound until the very end of "A Stone Circle". I would recommend this author and await his new book soon to be published in 2001 with eagerness.

Summary: An eerie thriller with believable characters.
Review: Gary Goshgarian is a wonderful storyteller. The Stone Circle is an eerie adventure yarn set on an island in Boston Harbor, where a young college professor, haunted by dreams of his dead wife, tries to solve a scientific mystery at the site of an archaeological dig.There are characters to root for, characters to hate, a race against time to save a little boy's life, and a bonus - you'll learn something about the way a modern archaeological dig works. A compelling thriller, a terrific read !

Summary: Great fall reading
Review: Goshgarian's new book is a terrific book for the fall: a gothic thriller-- much more than a dramatic exploration of an archeologist's discovery of ancient ruins in Boston harbor. It is an original story of one man's struggle against evil. The author is a great stylist; he carefully and systematically evokes a mood that is at once disturbing and vaguely familiar. The protagonist's relationships with his son and deceased wife are complicated and convincingly explored through a story line that reminded me of a contemporary Poe. This is a "page turner" I strongly recommend

Summary: Better than an amusement park: One ride not to miss.
Review: Goshgarian's newest book, The Stone Circle, starts with a bang,settles back for a little history, then rushes headlong into equalproportions of hair-raising action, wicked dreams, Hitchcockian suspense, tender character moments, and wondrous surprise. As you get more involved in the plight of the characters you feel you are living this book yourself. Thoroughly entertaining and beautifully conceived, the Kirkus reviewer clearly did not read the book. There is no Celtic mythology. There is, instead, archeological fact skillfully woven into a fine fictional tale. The Kirkus Review makes The Stone Circle sound like a dry college text. This could not be further from the truth. This is a book filled with delicious images, pleasantly creepy moments, and memorable scenes. The author carefully thrusts us into action, gives us a chance to catch our breath at just the right moments, then drives us deeper into the suspense of the central mystery. At the same time, we fear for the safety of the young character Andy and his father. This is a must read. I can't wait to see the movie! In November, this book will be a selection of the Literary Guild/Doubleday Book Club/Mystery Club.

Summary: Page turning thrill ride conveyed through great charcters!
Review: Goshgarian's thrilling tale about an archealogist trying to unearth the ruins of his life while maintaining his grip on reality is uniquely imaginative. Good, evil, sexual tension, humor, it's all there. The authenticity of his characters and non-stop action narrative make this book one of the best I've read in years! Check it out -- you won't be disappointed!

Summary: My Opinion On the Stone Circle
Review: If I had to rate this book on a scale from one to five I would probably give it a 2 or 3 stars. I would give it this because, in my opinion, I thought it was wierd and scary. I do not like these kind of books. Also because at the end of every chapter there was a creepy and spooky mystery. I did like this book because it was a mystery and I do like mysteries, but they were creepy mysteries! So that is my opinion on this book.

Review: In STONE CIRCLE Gary Goshgarian literally digs up the past and gave me a thriller ride of my life. He kept me riveted as he jumped back and forth between the present and past. If you want a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat and also make you think, read this one.

There's also an ingenious archaelogical hook -- a small dig in Boston Harbor that links ancient Celts to the Salem Witch trials of 1692 to a billion dollar casino resort. This is storytelling at its best. If you like Stephen King and Dean Koontz, then you'll love THE STONE CIRCLE
