Summary: SuperHuman "Thriller" with a Twist!
Review: I'm in the process of reading Age of the Antichrist by Jonathan R. Cash.

The subject, especially as we near the new millennium has probably been "over done", but not, to my knowledge, from this perspective.

Jon covers the Bible's Book of Revelations from the human, angel, and demon characters viewpoints. Even with the subject matter, the book is oft-times humorous. A very enjoyable read.

The book caught our attention because Jon is a full-time meteorologist and we work for AccuWeather, Inc. I honestly expected a lot of weather-related prophesies to find their way into the book, but thusfar only the first page had me chuckling about his weather descriptions.

While Christians are the most likely to read the book, it's told in a fashion that anyone could enjoy -- sort of a thriller with superhuman characters.

Summary: Have read much better
Review: I've read the Left Behind series, and other escatological fiction books. Some good, some bad (though I disagree with the pre-trib theology, I can "get past that" for the sake of good entertainment). To say that it took me a few weeks to plow through this book is generous. I first had difficulty with the editing, misspellings, etc. Then, though the story progressed, I found myself thinking that though I can certainly imagine how difficult it must be to write a Biblical fiction novel, there are those who really need to have someone critiquing their work -- someone not related by family or friendship; I think Jon is one. I found many aspects of his book difficult to reconcile with Scripture. It wasn't a *bad* book, but I don't think I'd recommend it to anyone

Summary: It's better than the left behind series!
Review: Just finished the Assassins novel..It was great..wanted something similar to quench my appetite...heard about "The Age of the Antichrist" in a chat room. This book was fantastic! It was a totally different read from the left behind series. The book concentrates on Immanuel Bernstate, the Antichrist, and his quest for power. Instead of focusing on the battle on the earth, this book focuses the battle between the angels and demons. It was quite original to say the least. I found myself going to my bible and looking up some of the events from the book of the revelation. Way Cool! It's a hit...You will be glued to your seat.

Summary: Why aren't there six stars?
Review: One phrase to simply describe the book: this thing was food for starvin marvin! From cover to cover, I could not put the book down until I finished it. I am one of those people that likes books on the end times; dealing with the rapture and the antichrist. Some people may call this book another one of those overzealous religious books. Let me tell you right now, it is not. This book is written so clearly, you feel like you are one of the characters, and when the action gets intense, you can feel yourself getting goosebumps. One thing that is different about this book and other books of the type is that it has three different viewpoints rather than just one. You have the view of the humans, the angels, and the demons. Altogether it is a great medley to see what happens at all views at all times. I just have one question, where is the sixth star rating? This book definitely deserves six stars. Being that I have worked with Jon on a project just as his book came out on the market, I was expecting to see a lot of his weather terms, but the first page was the only time I recognized his weather language. I would like to say that I give the book a Six(6(seis(sis)))! Good Job Jon "Oink" Cash!

Summary: Okay, but....
Review: Poor writing--I made it about 10 pages in before I gave up.

Summary: Supernatural thriller about the last years on planet earth!
Review: The age of the antichrist is a fast-paced novel guaranteed to open your eyes to the unseen battles raging for your very soul. The story follows a television news anchor that is more concerned with fame and fortune than with the God who created him. He becomes entangled in the Antichrist's web of deceit and trickery. Not since Frank Peretti's "This Present Darkness", has a novel so clearly opened a window into the unseen world of angels and demons. With the Battle of Armageddon approaching, you will witness the war of the ages between good and evil, demons and angels, and the humans whom they attempt to control. Witness the seductive power of Satan's lies as the false prophet of the World Federation creates a new, universal church promising the solution to all their problems. Bring together some mighty angels, rebellious demons, a few U.F.O.s, an orchestrated stock market crash, and some resurrected prophets of old...and what do you get? Just a glimpse of what's inside. It is all revealed in the story predicted in the Bible nearly two thousand years ago.

I am the Meteorologist for one of the highest rated morning television shows in the country. My station is WAVY-TV10, which is easily found on any browser. I consider this novel part fact, and part fiction. This is the first book to approach the subject about the end of the world from a biblical perspective, in novel form, while telling the story from the angels and demons point of view. Several national reviewers have commented that my book is not preachy, making it a great read for the Christian and non-Chistian...Are you prepared for the spiritual hurricane approaching?

Summary: Publisher comments on The Age of the Antichrist
Review: The Age of the Antichrist was initially published in a hard cover edition. As noted in the reviewers' comments, that edition was slow in starting and in need of some editing. When Whitaker House acquired the paperback rights to the book, we revised the first chapter and reedited the entire text before going to press. Readers should find the paperback edition of The Age of the Antichrist more exciting, faster paced, and worthy of a higher rating than even the 4-1/2 stars awarded to the hard cover edition. If you like the Left Behind series, you should love The Age of the Antichrist.

Summary: Great ideas, poor writing
Review: The author had a great idea, letting us see the perspective of people, angels, demons, and even Satan. He has a good story, and a lot of action scenes. But I will not recomend it to anyone. I won't lend it to anyone and I won't even offer to sell mine used "like new" because it is so poorly written. I struggled to read this book and finished only because I was determined to do it.

I don't want to be unkind, but in a word, the style is amateurish. He describes when he would do better to have dialogue. His characters don't talk, they "chortled" "grinned" "shouted" "sighed" "groaned." Examples: 1. "I believe luck is for the foolish," snickered Lord Winchester. 2. "Michael gleamed at his comrades" A page-full of cliches, and I had to put the book down until I could brace for another round!

Halfway through the book, I began to think the author also had the goal of having a screenplay based on the book. He should have started with the screenplay. It WOULD make a good movie, although I doubt if he would be flattered that the movie that I imagine is a cartoon!

Summary: My book is in competition with the "Left Behind" series.
Review: The soft cover edition of my book contains the same "general" story that the "Left Behind" series offers but has some stark differences as well. My book covers the entire seven year tribulation and the Battle of Armageddon in one fast read. I have been compared to Frank Peretti by some in the media and book industry for my handling of demons and angels which make up a good part of the book. If you are looking for something to fill the time in between the "Left Behind" releases, buy this, sit back, and enjoy!
