Rating: Summary: A National Review from the Daily Advance in North Carolina.. Review: "The author ties together hundreds of prophecies from the Bible into one story, a task Cash handled masterfully. Cash tells parts of the story from the perspective of the human, angel, and demon characters, and weaves the three pieces together for an effective and powerful conclusion. While a Christian audience will be the most attracted to the book, any reader will enjoy the story. Cash weaves a tale where the Antichrist methodically executes a plan of world domination. The character of the Antichrist is so well developed that the reader can believe in his ability to succeed, a fact that makes the book very frightening. In addition, the Antichrist uses and perverts religion to advance his plan, rather than trying to destroy religion. The power of deception throughout the book is very convincing. The Age of the Antichrist is likely to fly off the shelves in the Christian book market."
Rating: Summary: Fast paced end times story Review: All in all this is a very good end times fiction book. For those of you who are "Left Behind" fans, this book does not get you as in depth into the characters, but it does get through the whole tribulation period from rapture to Christ's return in one book, unlike the Left Behind books that are making us wait years and volumes to get to the end. I really enjoyed the angel and demon characters that was developed and explored in this book. A great change of perspective and interesting to show the hidden battles being waged for the souls of mankind.
Rating: Summary: End times...from different points of view Review: End time fiction has become a favorite topic of many readers today. Jonathon Cash gets right in the middle of it with a suspense of bibical prophescy unfolding. From those who are saved in the rapture to the ones left behind, angels and demons battle over the souls of the humans. Apperances by Satan and Michael the archangel and even Jesus Christ make this a story that is as entertaining as it is a prayer.
Rating: Summary: Boring Review: For spiritual warfare fiction read Frank Peretti. The Left Behind Series is head and shoulders above this book. Angela Hunt and Grant Jefferies series on the end times is also better than this. Poor character development and poor dialogue. I was disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Zero stars Review: He must know someone in the publishing business. How else could such a poorly written book make it to the public? Zero excitement, zero character development, zero scene development, I wish there were a way to give it zero stars. Read James BeauSeigneur's series if you want a more believable story.
Rating: Summary: Exciting Read! Review: I am reading the left behind series, which I believe are very well written, and I have read Mr. Cash's book and am very impressed with it. The beginning is a little slow, but once you get past the first 50 pages the book flies through your hands. The Left Behind series and this book have highlights in there own rights. In left behind you get to really know a set of people over a long period of time. Antichrist covers things very quickly and concisely. The action is non-stop and leaves you breathless at times. I missed a fair amout of sleep reading this book. The bottom line is that this book brings Revelation to life in a very entertaining and readable format. I recommend it to fellow christians for the theology found within, and to non-believers for the way it presents the end times in an easy to understand format.
Rating: Summary: a constant struggle to finish Review: I am the type of person that loves a good fictional account of Biblical material but this does not qualify. I've read several End-Times novels (Left Behind, Christ Clone, Fire Of Heaven, etc)that I've enjoyed but this is not one of them. Peretti did spiritual warfare much much better; I found Cash's spiritual warfare narratives absurd. I will try to finish this book eventually because I hate to leave a book unfinished but I expect it will take many weeks to do so.Save your money and buy something else!
Rating: Summary: The Age of the Antichrist Review: I am usually not one that picks up a book and reads it. But when I saw this book I was intrigued. As I began to read it I became more and more interested in the characters. The best part about this book is Mr. Cash's use of the spiritual realm and the physical realm simultaneously. This book was one that I could not put down even though I knew how it was going to end. I would recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Absurdly lame landfill helper Review: I could hurl insults at this book for hours, but I'll make it quick. This is the worst book that I have ever attempted to read. I forced myself to read two full chapters before I threw the book into the garbage. I like end-times stories (Left Behind, etc.), and this ain't it. I agree with other posters that it is terribly, horribly written. It comes across as a grade-school student's story with a ridiculous writing perspective. Angels who cry and cower about getting into a fistfight? Demons talking like eighth graders? Puh-lease. Don't be fooled by the pretty cover and interesting back cover synopsis. You will be disappointed, not to mention feeling shocked that such drivel gets published.
Rating: Summary: A Fantabulously Great Book Review: I was already drawn to the book because of the author was a meteorologist and worked in a television station, but I was not prepared for the impact of the book. Most Christian books that I read begin by changing to different settings and characters that come into play during the course of the story, before the reader fully understands what is going on. However, Jon Cash's book remained in the original setting until the events taking place were defined. I was also drawn to the action in the plot of the story. It took me less than two days to read the entire novel. I would recommend this book to any person, Christian or not. Cash did a great job in correlating the events of the book to the prophecies in the book of Revelations. The orchestration of the characters and the prophecies worked hand in hand. Great job Jon.
