Rating: Summary: Too Cute!! Review: Creepy Little Bedtime Stories now has a place of honor on my bookshelf with all my other creepy, spooky and all around cute books! I love the pen and ink illustrations and the stories were short and bittersweet, just like I like 'em. These stories are not the kind that keep-you-awake, but they are just enough for kids to read at bedtime. The cover is beautiful, too, which makes me want to show this one off!
Rating: Summary: Too Cute!! Review: Edward Gorey this is not! I agree with a previous review that the illustrations are good, but they do not make this book worthwhile. The stories are poor, and the weak attempts at rhyming in the poems would make even a 4th grade teacher cringe! I am just a lay poet, but I would be ashamed to have others view such weak attempts. The sad thing is that most of these stories (poems) could have been so much better, content and rhyme-wise with little effort. While reading this book, I felt like an editor, and I couldn't help but want to rewrite most of them. Many could have been improved by anyone without any literary skill. I hate to say it, but this book was a big disappointment. There are many better creepy/morbid story/poem books to be had. Edward Gorey can't be beat for one! Angus Oblong is pretty good too.

Rating: Summary: Even I write better 'scary tales' than these! Review: I can review this book in ONE word: YUCK! ...But, of course, I'm NOT going to leave it at that!... I bought this book, since I'm ... for all that is cute and creepy, thinking the illustrations were adorable-which I STILL think...The poems, however, are atrocious! I can get past the fact that none rhyme, as, poems don't have too..but, NONE were even remotely 'scary' and made NO SENSE. If you can get it [without paying a lot], I'd recommend it for the illustrations..but, you're much better off buying something by Edward Gorey or Tim Burton.
Rating: Summary: VERY interesting Review: This is a very tiny, very different book. Kind of reminds me of Tim Burton.
