Summary: The Listeners
Review: The Listeners really captivated me and I read it all in one sitting because no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't put it down. This was a brilliant masterpiece by Mr. Pike, truly one of his best. His mind has no limit on imagination and seems to bring history alive and make me want to read about actual events. This book was chilling and really makes you wonder if the things that happened in the book, really happened in real life's ancient past.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Truely Wonderful Book!
Review: The Listeners was one of my all time faverote books by Christopher Pike...and I have read ALL of them. Pike takes your imagination on a turn through history and science with his creative plot. The book starts out with an FBI agent, David, who is sent to investigate a group called the big mind. The big mind is a group of people who look (channel) into the past. Soon does David discover that there is more to the story than what meets the eye.

I would recomend this book for people who love a little bit of romance, mystery, and even creative history. What I mean by history is that the author will leave you wondering how the world was even brought about. And if you are a Pike fan...this is a must read!

While it is hard to explain as to why this book was so wonderful there is one line that leaves me captivated-The purpose of life is unknown. It is a mystery, and you know mysteries can be lived but never explained. Do you understand?-

So overall this book was a great read!

Review: The way Christopher Pike can capture a reader from the very first page is incredible!! The unexpected twist at the end of The Listeners is well thought out and very clever. I look forward to reading others he has written.

Summary: INCREDIBLE, KEPT ME TURNING THE PAGES FOR HOURS!
Review: This book was great! The begining was semi-boring, but got more interesting when FBI agent, David Conner, burned or rather melted Rudy Failla's, the head of a powerful Mafia family, [thing] with a lighter & later killed him. After that he'd been called "Dirty Dave", & sometimes avioded , if possible. David is one man who's been hurt numerous amounts of times, especially by death. Plus David could never seem to let go off his painful past. Whenever he let himself love someone they seemed to die. He decided to retire, but his boss, Ned Calendar, insists he do one last assignment that he promises will be a piece of cake for David. But Ned & David later discover this wasn't cake, but a job too hard for any human. While David is there he also falls in love with one of the red-headed twin sisters, that are a key to evil that's been cursed upon the human race. NOTE: I loved the ending, how Pike made it confusing so a nosey person, such as myself sometimes does, who peeks to the last few pages of the EPILOGUE, yet couldn't understand who the woman or man he was refering to. In the end of, The Listeners, all hope seems lost for David & the entire human race, but what David doesn't know is that the power of love can never be broken, nor beaten, even through death, the essence will still remain. I'd be very pleased if Pike made a sequel, yet i don't think there will be. This book i will read again & again, thanks to my favorite author & an inspiration to my own writing career. I recommend anyone willing to open their minds to the unknown should read this novel.*ENJOY!* ~{;)}-<-<
