Summary: Mystified, happily mystified
Review: I was so thrilled to read this book. Like many other Pike fans, I can't wait for his next book to come out, and even though I am way too old to be called a young adult anymore, I still am addicted to Mr Pike, His novels have become wonderfully spiritual and very meaningful in my life. And this one was wondeful in the way it leaves you hanging, and yes Mr Pike has shown us not all books have a happy go lucky ride off into the sunset ending. I just want to say way to go, and keep those novels coming.

Summary: Okay, better than last few but he's done a lot better.
Review: I've been a Pike fan for a long time. I think, and I have to agree with the other commentary but its impossible to create one masterpiece after another . . he's running out of ideas. He's been spiraling down especially after the Last Vampire series . . with Star Group in particular. . I thought that was really, really bad. But Hollow Skull is still decent and its a lot better than most of his recent work, its pretty good. An entertaining novel, with neat twists and an interesting plot. . I just found it a little confusing. I don't know if its because I'm getting older, or because he's losing his touch but I'm slowly getting tired of Pike. . .I hope his future pieces of work will change my mind.

Summary: The Hollow skull
Review: In The Hollow Skull, Christopher Pike writes about a lot of interesting and exciting things, which made me want to keep reading. There's an old abandoned mine which only scientists have been down into for about twenty years. Then one day, two teenage couples decide that they want to go down into the mine and explore. While in the cave something happens, and it changes everyone's lives in the nearby little town. Pike gives so much detail that when he ends a chapter, it starts getting better and you feel like you need to keep reading.
It's exciting because Pike, throughout the book, adds something surprising that I wouldn't have expected, especially the ending. I loved this book, because Pike ends the chapter when it's getting better, and that's what made me want to keep reading.

Summary: Dark. Dreary. Delicious.
Review: Masterful Pike, you've done it again. I snuck a copy; can't tell you from where. This book is as good as Pike's best. As good as his most popular. Sick. Suspenseful. Cool. Pike fears no boundaries. That's why I love him. Only glad I don't live in Madison, WI.

Summary: It ate my mind. It ate my brain.
Review: My boyfriend bought this book as a joke from the Dollar Tree. We were laughing in the store at the pathetic opening lines. Anyone who reads this book and takes it seriously without laughing out loud at its poorly, and ridiculously, constructed prose is a moron. For example, "Fred able was her main squeeze, better than fresh orange juidce in the morning, more an extra-large cappuccino late at night." Are you kidding me? I realize that these are teen books, but does that mean the writing must be boarderline retarded? The book is full of disconnected imagery and half-baked ideas. "He had a great toothy smile that made him look gentle and clever at the same time." Huh?

But, if you seriously liked this book, then I envy you. Because any peice of crap will seem like a hemmingway. Your dim mind must be in a whirl of entertainment and satisfaction. Lucky you.

Summary: WHERE'S THE REAL ENDING?
Review: Now, I have read many Christopher Pike books and I was really looking forward to reading this one. So when I started it, I thought it was great, you know, one of those books that really holds your interest, and I read it right through the night. Then came the ending and I thought "Oh dear". This really really good book was totally ruined by a crap crap ending. I'm very sorry, but don't do what I did and loose a night's sleep reading it, because it's not worth it. Get your sleep instead and read a classic Pike book, like Chain Letter.

Summary: Choppy and robotic
Review: Personally I like endinds that leave me hungry and ready for a seqal, But this one was just plainly OK. It was choppy and at sometimes revieled deep thoughts of the universe which I loved. But other parts were just pland, like bringing together Hemingway and Stephen King they just don't mesh.

Summary: just when I thought it couldn't get better...
Review: Stunning and thought provoking, Christopher Pike has once more outdone himself with The Hollow Skull. Packed with action, plot twists, and a shocking (but realistic, I feel) ending, I couldn't put it down. If you read but one Christopher Pike book, this should be it.

Summary: Hey, it's still C.Pike
Review: The Hollow Skull is in the most part typical Pike. He has the amazing ability to complement two contrasting notions. Horror and religion. While THS has the thrilling "Pike touch" of intense, uncomplicated, mystery and horror underline with enlightening and spiritual ideas, it lacks originality in comparison with his other books. The book runs too smoothly, reads too well. However, the ending is absolutely, almost ridiculously Pike. Because of it, the book is still a must have for all CPIKE fans. Although, absent the little quirks and twists, substantiation, and thought provoking nuances, which makes his other novels riveting, The Hollow Skull is just another teen horror thriller.
