Summary: This book was the best book in the Orphan series
Review: Raven was awesome, I liked the way it showed how families really can be that blind to each other. I liked how Raven put the pot under Jennifer's pillow and got her in trouble. I didn't like the fact that her Uncle hit her and treated her like a slave. I can't wait until The Runaways comes out.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Best in the Series
Review: Raven's mother, an alcoholic and a drug addict, has finally gotten herself into big trouble. As in, legal trouble, as in, she very well may go to jail. Raven is sent to live with her Uncle Reuben, Aunt Clara, and her cousins Jennifer and William. Reuben beats her, Clara won't stand up to him, Jennifer makes things unbearable for Raven in school. Raven dreams about getting away from them, but nothing seems to go right for her. Eventually, however, Reuben beats her badly enough for the school officials to find out, and Raven is taken from the home.

This is the best in the series, easily. It's better written and Raven is a better character than Butterfly or Crystal, equal with Brooke. The last two of the series, have characters that are more concrete, and that the reader will empathize with. If you are going to read the series, at least try to get to Raven.

Summary: A bit unrealistic but still a good read
Review: Raven's upbringing wasn't the best. Her mother smoked ..., had one too many one night stands, and drank too much. She never knew her father and her mother never remarried. But some how out of all of this she managed to blossom as a good, strong person. But she's put to the test when her mother gets in troulbe for drugs and she has to live with her spoiled cousin Jennifer, her cruel uncle Reuben, her sweet cousin William, and gentle aunt. Life dosen't get any easier for Raven since her Uncle and Jennifer seem to be trying to ruin her life. Will she be able to survie?

I've only read another book in this series (Butterfly) and I found this one to be not so realistc but still a good read. I'm planning on reading the other two (Brooke and Crystal) with high hopes. VC Andrews is a talented writer or suspense and mystery. I hope her other books are just as good.

Summary: Just before the final FIREWORKS in the series!
Review: This book has a lot of action than the previously books but also emphasize that every characters are facing the reality. Also in the preview of "Runaways", Brooke did state the fact about the number orphans across U.S. really blow me away. These first four books are must to read before Runaways so you can know their qualities will be used the final book.

Summary: Finished it in 2 DAYS!!!
Review: This book is really different from the rest of them, she stayed with family yet she was still not happy. Her uncle and her cousin jennifer were the worst. And her aunt and cousin william are the ones who are caring and nice which is ironic since the daughter is supposed to be like the mother, and the son is supposed to be like the father. But in the end all the orphans are together so the next book should be interesting!! Can't wait to read it!!

Summary: Totally and utterly disappointing
Review: This book left me wondering what the point of the collective 4 books was.I found this character to be weak. Her pathetic attempts to defend herself against her uncle goes against every bit of character that the author obviously spent so much time trying to build. These 4 books total lack of direction have left me with no desire to read Runaways when it comes out. I wouldn't waste my money or time!! As a personal note to the ghost writer for Miss Andrews, IT IS TIME TO PUT YOUR PEN DOWN!!! YOU STINK! You have gotten SO far away from Miss Andrews original style and imagination, that you may as well write the books under your own name and get the lousy reviews yourself, instead of staining the memory of a very good author.

Summary: MUCH better
Review: This book was much, much, MUCH better than the first three in the series! Sadly, that's not saying much. Raven's story is different from the other girls', however, and not quite as predictable. I really liked Raven's character. She is bold, smart, and not afraid to speak her mind!
I would have loved to see this book made into a full-length novel, without the ugly cover! I am tired of these teenybopper "mini-books" V.C. keeps writing, but if you have to read one, pick this one.

Summary: Couldn't put it down!!!
Review: This has really been fun reading these small series books. This last one was different in the way that she stayed with family members. Her uncle is awful though, and so is that Jennifer. I feel sorry for the aunt and the son. Of course, Raven too. I enjoyed reading it. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book, now that they are all together. They all seem to have their own little qualities and combined this should be interesting.

Summary: Mesmerising!
Review: This is a great book with a wonderful story line and I think that everyone should read it.
