Rating: Summary: This book kept me on the edge of my chair! Review: This is definately a science fiction type book. I was always wondering what will happen next. The author illustrates the scenes well. It keeps your mind racing, asking questions, and hoping for the best. If you like a little wierdness then you should read this.
Rating: Summary: These are no ordinary bugs Review: This is one of John Saul's best books. I really enjoyed this book. It is creepy in some ways and is one of the best books I've ever read. I hope that there will be a sequal.
Rating: Summary: This book creeped me out Review: This is one of the best John Sauls that I've read. These bugs are not normal nor the kids. I hope that Saul makes a sequal for this book!
Rating: Summary: A Bit Unusual-But An Entertaining Book! Review: This is the first I have read of John Saul, and I found the book entertaining to say the least, but maybe a bit far-fetched. Realistically, it couldn't happen in real life, as it did with the character Julie, and she was still walking around surviving, yet being eaten alive with insects. Yet, though it wasn't realistic, I found it very interesting to keep on reading the book to see what would happen next. The ending was a good one.
Rating: Summary: Average medical horror Review: This is the first Saul book I've read, and up until this point, the only Saul book I've read. While some of the book was entertaining, it certainly wasn't frightening, and honestly, not riveting. I almost gave up on it early on. The serial killer subplot seems to be worth it, but even that becomes ludicrous when we find out more about who we're dealing with. The whole problem with the book comes down to implausibility. If you like Saul, you'll probably get into it.
Rating: Summary: This book will make your skin crawl! Review: This terrifying horror novel about teenage girl who finds herself guinea pig in a madman's chilling experiment will make your skin crawl and chill your blood! This is most frightening book Saul has ever written and you will about this book any time you see a bee!
Rating: Summary: The most captivating, thrilling story I've ever read. Review: This was the most thrilling story I've ever read. John Saul kept my attention through out the whole book. His use of characters and wording was excellent. He made you feel like you were actually part of the book. He made you want to sleep with the lights on, no matter what your age was.
Rating: Summary: My least favorite... Review: When I first started reading this book, I found that I didn't get into it as quickly as I've gotten into his other books. However, by the time I got to page 100, I found myself speeding through it and getting really interested. I didn't really like the whole bug theme b/c I just can't stand bugs. There were a few pages that I just had to skip over where he talked about spiders - uggh! The last 100 pages were a little hard to get through. The one disappointing thing about this boook is that there was no secret to find out about in the end like most of his other books. It was disappointing to know what was going on the whole time. This is definitely my least favorite John Saul book. I don't recommend reading this if you hate bugs and insects because there is a lot of detail!
Rating: Summary: Attack of the Killer Insects Review: While a bit far fetched I enjoyed listening to this tale from John Saul. The story drew me in from the very beginning and I was anxious to see what happens twoards the end. I have to confess I did like the ending. Some parts of this book were really creepy and this kept me glued to my stereo. It was a tad disturbing to see that the majority of victims were teen agers but it gave the book that extyra thrill and horrific jolt. All the characters were engaging and played their parts nicely. I also liked all the underlining sexual themes in the book; anybody else catch those? The reader did a good job, though at times her mid western accents got a bit too much. She did portray the drama of the book well occasionally going over the top in some of the more vilent scenes. This version contains two audio cassettes and is narrated by a single reader.
