Rating: Summary: The orpah series is great don't forget to check out runaway! Review: This book is excellant I read all the series including Butterfly,Raven,Crystal,And Runaways. These books are all totally AWESOME I could read them over and over you'll love them you can also check them out at your local library but I myself would suggest you buy them now while you can get them and V.C. Andrews has more than just these 5 thrillers she is loaded with fantastic books. Books that make you never want to stop reading them. Beleive me I'm only 13 and loved all of her books I have now read most of her series of books and also recommend the logan Series.
Rating: Summary: Just okay. Review: This book was obviously aimed at young teens and pre-teens, which alienates all of V.C.'s older fans that she has earned over the years. Of course, I had to buy it anyway. I felt that Brooke's story would have been much more interesting had it been put in a longer book. Also, the book was a complete rehash of Butterfly. Extremely trite and predictable, yet better than Butterfly or Crystal. I wouldn't recommend this book for adults, not even die-hard fans of V.C. Save your money and buy the full-length Runaways instead.
Rating: Summary: okay but not the best Review: This is weird but Brooke is one of my fave characters but this is one of my least fave books by VCA. it was not of her traditional novels. it was a bit boring, however it was great at the end!
Rating: Summary: V.C. Andrews books are wondersful, but this isin't Review: This isin't the types of books V.C. Andrews usually make. I miss the saga books that are big and focuses on a main character and the secrets and deceits yet uncovered. These books in the "Orphans" series should be longer instead of less than 200 pages. Don't get me wrong, I have read and re-read all the books from "Flowers In the Attic" to "Olivia", and adding the Orphans to her books is terrible. I hope there will be better books coming out like the "Logan", "Landry", etc. series. I would love to get back into her books.
Rating: Summary: Very good, needs some work, but still worth it. Review: This novel, is not as deep as some of his earlier novels, but still an excellent read. the characters are well portrayed and the plot has alot of potentiel. the only problems I have with the book is that it's too short, but is suppose that's why they call it a miniseries. None the less I reccommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Heart wrenching Review: This series is a must read for anyone considering giving up their children for a supposedly "better" life. Although based on fiction ... there is alot of truth to the events in the girls lives as a foster child-orphan. I am anxiously awaiting the release of Runaways. There is a light at the end of every tunnel and I look forward to learning the result of Butterfly, Crystal, Brooke and Raven
Rating: Summary: I got it! Review: Well, my husband bought this book for me last night and I read it in two hours. It's pretty good, I think the first two were better and I'm really confused about the next one from the exert from the back of Brooke. I wish these books were longer, just as you really get into it, it's finished. I'm also really intrigued with all the references to mental illness. That's new for the young girls to face these problems. Remember Music in the Night? Maybe the new people they have writing now know alot about those types of problems. Well, I guess now I'm back to waiting for the next one.
Rating: Summary: "Brooke" Flows Review: When I first read this book, I thought it would be almost the same as "Butterfly". Pretty blonde girl gets adopted from the orphanage and lives with rich parents; father is as nice as can be but the mother is obsessive with trying to make the newly-adopted daughter and clone of herself. However, as I read on, I saw some differences: 1. Butterfly (Janet) tried to please her adopted mother (can't think of her name right now..."Mona" keeps popping into my head, but I know that wasn't it...) any way she could, while Brooke is a little more headstrong and does what she wants to do; 2. Brooke handles stressful situations better than Butterfly did until the end, which is just a smidge more dramatic than "Butterfly"'s ending; 3. Brooke does not let usually herself be intimidated. Unlike most of the V.C. Andrews heroines, she stands up for herself against the snotty girls at her private school. All in all, this was one of the better books in the "Orphans" series.
