Rating: Summary: Short and sweet!!! Review: "Brooke" has to be my fav of all the "Orphan" series. She just wants to live her life as a softball player, but snotty Pamela wanted her to be just like her. She obsessed over body fat, muscle, dirt, everything. It was a shame because Brooke was the best player on her school's team. I can hardly wait for "Runaways" to come out.

Rating: Summary: Well, not great...yet Review: Brooke is a completely new version of Butterfly, however there is one large difference, more of which I will come to later. Pamela Thompson wants to live through Brooke, by making her into a beauty queen, just like she was. Brooke, however, just wants to play softball for the private girl's school she attends. Peter Thompson, Pamela's husband is proud of Brooke's accomplishments on the field, but he can't help her at home, Pamela definitely runs the house. Eventually, Brooke, unlike Butterfly refuses to give in to Pamela's desire to take over her personality, has to leave the home after causing Pamela to age....or have a nervous breakdown.Better than the first two, not as good as Raven, but definitely getting there. Please editor, work harder...

Rating: Summary: Too much alike Review: Brooke was a good book. I have liked the other two I have read and am waiting for Raven to be released in my area. I hope it is not predictable as the others. I hope this character has a chance to grow a little. I really hope the end of the series is more dramatic than the rest. I also hope to see more series from V.C. Andrews in her old style.
Rating: Summary: Same old same old Review: Brooke was very simaliar to Butterfly, and the stories seem to all be the same but with differt caracters! You could almost writee the book after reading the first 2!!
Rating: Summary: Brooke's Shield Review: Brooke whats-her-name has many things in common with Janet (Butterfly). Both were adopted by a mother who has dreams for them that they don't have for themselves. And their adoptive fathers just sit back and watch. Anyway, Brooke is a young orphan searching for the love of family. But the only woman who wants to adopt her tries to make her over into a beauty queen, when Brooke really isn't interested in anything but baseball. Who will shield Brooke when reality keeps throwing curve balls her way? Good ending, but first you must endure a lot of baloney. Also, Brooke narrates Runaways. Why? Why her in particular? The truth is, I could really care less in what direction this series goes.
Rating: Summary: Familiar re-hash yet somehow addictive Review: But of course, that could describe all of Andrew Neiderman's writing's under the V.C. Andrews name. This book was very similar to Dark Angel, the second book in the Heaven series, in that the female adult figure was worried about her age and her beauty and the male adult figure worried about his business and showing off his house. This book also sounds like all the other Orphan series books in that it starts out with the girl going to a really fabulous house and being disbelieving, and then ends with the girl having to leave due to tragic circumstances. Is it getting old yet? Yes. Thank goddess there's only one more! And, yes, I'll probably read it anyway. The characterization in these novels is getting a little better, but still needs work. I guess I'm waiting around for the fine-tuning to be perfected and the originality to take over. Has anyone thought about whose point of view Runaways is going to be told from? If all the books are first person, and all fo! ur girls get their own prequel, is Runaways going to break the pattern and be third person or are we going to have to be satisfied with only one of the girls' perspectives? Guess it won't be long before we find out.
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK!!!!! COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I absolutely loved this book. The whole orfans series was just great. There was nothing bad about this book or any other books by V.C.Andrews. Her children are doing a excellent job of kepping her books alive. I give you five stars for never ending effort. Don't give up!! We love your books, and can't wait to read them. PLEASE WRITE FASTER, I HATE THE WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Same Old Story - Retold Review: I admit that I could not put this book down until every last word was read, but that does not mean it is a great book. I had the feeling with this book (and the series) that I had heard the stories before. I went into my library and picked out the Heaven series. It all sounds the same, only Heaven and Dark Angel have better writing and it is just one person. I am curious about Raven and Runaways.
