Summary: An Awesome Campfire Book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I got this book years ago when I was younger and the Alvin Schwartz books (Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark) were popular. But the stories in this book were of a higher craft (and longer). If you need a book to scare little kids at camp I'd recommend this book wholeheartedly.

Review: I love short horror stories, and I have quite a collection of them. Robert San Souci's "Short and Shivery" series is definitely the best; he blows Alvin Schwartz out of the water. The sophistication level is high; it's not just a bunch of "gross out" tales.

Review: Short and Shivery Do you like reading ghost stories that leave you afraid to turn out the lights at night? Short and Shivery by Robert D. San Sousi has many haunted stories that are really creepy.
In the story of "The Haunted Inn" a guy named Wei along with a couple of his friends were driving around. All of a sudden a storm appeared. Because of the violent storm they had to stop and stay at an inn. They were greeted warmly by the innkeeper and his wife. I felt one of the best parts in "The Haunted Inn" was when the group went up in front of Wei's friend's face. The reason I mentioned both both of these incidents in the stories is because they were the creepiest.
In another story, "The Duppy"the protagonist, a boy named Jubal Lescot had an aunt that died when he was six. He told us she had been mean and evil. He overheard his neighbor talking about a duppy, or a ghost. A few weeks later he went to the graveyard to spy on the duppy, but instead, the duppy spotted him! One of the best parts in "The Duppy" was when Jubal came running from the duppy and ran into his father. His father said, "In the morning we will put the duppy to rest." They were going to kill!
If you didn't enjoy the last book you read, you shouldn't wait to read this. This book has many different stories, and each will excite you. Go and buy it now! These stories will creep you out.

Relying more on story content than the gross out factor of illustrations, the Short & Shivery series are must have books for any kid going to sleepaway camp. The best stories in this volume are: The Cegua Tailypo The Soldier and the Vampire Boneless The Loup-Garou (The Werewolf) and The Golem But every story is good in its own right. If you want to introduce your kids to scary stories or folklore but don't want the nightmares induced by the Schawrtz books, pick up any one of the Short & Shivery books without fear. Review: This book was great because it had so many scary folk tales and tall tales. I liked that it had short stories. I liked this book more because of all the scary stories that they have in this book. The one I like the most was "The Water Fall of the Living Ghost".

Review: What more can I say? This is a fantastic book. San Souci tells many stories full of chills and thrills. A wonderful collection of tales for people who love scary stories. The best part is that all of the stories are short. If you like this book, be sure to read Even More Short and Shivery.
