Rating: Summary: "Wonderful work, a spinetingling novel for anyone!'' Review: Bob Bloch's book "Psycho" is a great novel that anyone should read. It not only makes you feel in the position of the characters, but makes you acually start to get goosebumps. I enjoyed this book and I finished it less than a week!
Rating: Summary: Spooky Review: Don't get me wrong--Alfred Hitchcock's movie is one of the best ever made. But why does he get all the credit for the plot twists and the surprises when this Bloch dude is the one who wrote the book to begin with? Even if you've seen the movie, the book is worth a read. And if anyone has any information on the movie remake that is supposed to come out this year e-mail me. Thanks.
Rating: Summary: Good read ! Review: I bought this book to see how close the film was to the original story. In fact it was a very faithful interpretation, so there was absolutely no surprises. One plus. The author is better able to get us into Norman (or is it Norma ?) Bate's mind than Hitchcock could do in the film. Otherwise it's a great story (derived from a real news event). It's too bad I already knew the end. Good read, though...

Rating: Summary: Psycho Hits the Big One! Review: I have read Psycho since I am more than a horror film buff (I'm obsessed) and I have found that Psycho may very well be the best book I have ever read. It was an excellent read, and it kept you interested the whole way through. It is a whole lot better than the movie, and I will most likely read it more than once.
Rating: Summary: A great tale that deserved to be made into a movie! Review: I haven't seen the movie, but now I really want to! This book was awesome. It is one of my favorites. I have to admit i don't think it is very scary, but it is a great mystery. It's hard to imagine that someone was able to think up such a strange and enjoyable tale! .
Rating: Summary: This book was a good book. Review: I liked this book. It was enjoyable, and sorta cool. I read it over and over. It is a good book, it is a good book.
Rating: Summary: Good book, worthy of reading Review: I read psycho for a research paper and I really enjoyed it. The ending was very good I never expected it. Good book but not good for a paper. I couldn't find any criticism on it. I recommend Psycho. I thought the movie was nothing special. I expected more from it. This was an easy to read book that I finished in 3 days.
Rating: Summary: Great but lacked the tension and excitement of the movie Review: I was such a big fan of the film I had to read the novel. Was it good? Yes but the film was better laid out. Marion was only in half the film but she's only in a fifth of the book! This made the character seem as though she was only put in it to get the action rolling which is fine but it would have been a lot better if she was made a properly thought out character like in the film. Then shower scene would have had a lot more shock and meaning to it. WARNING: If your mad on the film then reading this book will give you a diffirent perspective on the film which might not be a good thing.
Rating: Summary: Average rating, but it's still good. Review: I've always wanted to read this book ever since I saw Hitchcock's famous thriller movie that created the slasher film genre (true fact!). Hitchcock was faithful to the story, but made a couple of changes here and there with the characters (such as the description of the infamous Norman Bates). I highly recommend this book to those who have enjoyed Hitchcock's movies and to those readers who love classic thriller novels. I'm not a fast reader, but this book was so good and interesting that I finished reading it rather quickly. Part of the contribution to the fast reading may have been that the book is only 223 pages and looks like a book you would read in elementary.
