Summary: A very Good Book
Review: The story line in this book was well paced and in keeping with Robin Cook's style. What I did not like about it was the fact that it was a medical student getting into all the trouble. For me, it was something that kept bothering me throughout all the time I spent reading it. Third year medical students in a surgery rotation are not likely to have permission by whoever is in charge, to just go and "research" anything instead of doing their share. Substitute the med student for a P.A. or something other and you may enjoy it more. Still, it was a great book!

Summary: A Very Suspensful book
Review: This book is a great medical mystery. Why are patients going in for minor surgeries failing to awaken from their operations? Is it the anestesia or something more sinister? This book is filled with exciting plot twists.I give it 4 stars only because I feel it started slow.

Summary: One of the greatest Books I have ever read
Review: This book is one of the greatest books I have read so far. I did nothing for three days but read this book. Cook drags the suspense, and saves the best for last. In "Coma", I did not expect to find that the patients were being deliberately sent into coma for their organs. The truth was far beyond my wildest imagination. This book is really an awesome medical chiller.

Summary: Great Ending!
Review: This is one of my favorite Robin cook books. It is extremely good for only being his second novel. It is about this medical student, who stumbles upon some suspicious findings which turn out to be a big conspiracy thing. This book is a little outdated, and it gets slow at times but overall it is a very good book. But, my favorite part is the ending. It's sort of obvious once you get to it and I kept wondering how I didn't figure it out before hand. It's not really the ending itself; it's the whole conspiracy that was very surprising. It is evil, yet ingenious.

Summary: This ia a SUSPENSE THRILLER
Review: This is one of my favourites by Robin Cook. The story takes of real good and the suspense is very well kept. Hard to believe that the surgeons would do this to trade body parts. I have also seen the movie , the cast including Michael Douglas. It is a MUST READ book.

Summary: I couldn't put it down!
Review: This is the best medical thriller I've ever read! I read it one sitting, it was so engrossing. I'd highly recommend it.

Summary: About the Book of Coma
Review: This story takes place in Boston in 1976. This influences the actions of the characters greatly, because the story talks a great deal about women not being equal to men. The characters in this book are very believable. The protagonists include Susan, Bellows, and Stark. The most memorable character would have to be Susan. She was incredibly smart and talented. She stood for something in the world, and she was not afraid to show it. Robin Cook really makes the reader care about Susan a great deal. He spends almost the entire story following around Susan, and the reader gets an in depth idea of her life. The plot is rather simple. Susan is a third year medical student, and she is just started to work at a hospital. She realizes that many patients have gone into comas lately. Susan investigates this matter, and soon many people get upset at her for snooping around. In fact, Susan loses her entire position at the hospital. Susan is threatened by a man, but she still persistently tries to get to the bottom of this mystery. At the end of the story, Susan finds out the truth. There is a group of doctors taking innosent people's lives so that they can do research on them. Susan ends up being a patient for these doctors to work on. The author does a lot to keep the reader interested in the book. He keeps the reader on the edge of his/her seat by adding in emotion and normalcy to his writing. I find this story extremely compelling. It's interesting because I learned a lot about the medical field. Also, it's unique because it's made me think that, possibly, there could be crazy people out there who do wierd things with bodies. The author uses suspence perfectly. When Susan is being attacked by the man, Cook keeps the reader on the edge of his/her seat. Symbolism was used in the attributes of the characters. Susan stood for female rights and being all that she could be. This was a good symbol to focus on while reading the story. It helped me to understand the way she reacted in some situations. Also, Stark was a symbol in himself. He seemed very easy going about the entire matter, until the end. THe was a symbol, because he was the ONLY MAN who wanted to help her with her studies. This symbolized manipulating ways people use to get them through life. The author is trying to make the reader think. He is trying to tell the reader that things are not always as they seem. This is the message that I obtained from reading Coma. The author is rather successful in communicating the theme, because the entire story line is based on the fact that things are not always as they seem to be.
