Summary: The Best Buffy Book I've Read!
Review: As an avid fan of the show, I really enjoyed this novel. The mythological story line was intriguing, and the writing was excellent. Part of what makes this book so interesting is the unusual circumstances imposed on the characters in Sunnydale, and the way they act as a result. Unlike Purtalia's review, I don't feel that Oz's dialogue was uncharacteristically extensive, but rather warranted and fitting; and Cordelia's actions were quite appropriate given the situation. Instead, I feel this book gives readers the opportunity to visit these characters a bit more than "normal" Sunnydale circumstances permit. I would highly recommend this read!

Summary: Buffy Fights Against Girl Power Gone Way and Deadly Wrong!
Review: Buffy and the Slayerettes think nothing is unusual when one of their fellow Sunnydale highers, a girl named Allison Gianakous, demands that Principal Snyder allow her to try out for the boys' basketball team. Gender equality is certainly the way it should be everywhere, the Hellmouth included. But when guys begin acting like mindless wimps and some are found drowned under mysterious circumstances, Buffy realizes that there might be something more going on than a normal expression of female power. She must fight the surprising, relentless force that has come to play in Sunnydale, a force that has everyone acting oddly, even the vampires, and will stop at nothing until it has changed everything to its distorted concept of a Brave New World. I had a great deal of fun writing this book - there are so many amazing supernatural possibilities and entities with which to play within Buffy's incredible Slayer World, and Buffy is one of the coolest characters to come along in eons, male OR female! I hope you find it fun to read, as well, and I'd love to hear from readers. For the adult Vampire lover, check out one of my newest adult novels, DARK SHADOWS: DREAMS OF THE DARK (co-authored with Stephen Mark Rainey), based on the t.v. series "Dark Shadows!" Read on!

Summary: Correction...
Review: Elizabeth Massie e-mailed me due to my "exaggerated" review. So, to make some corrections on my previous review, here I go: Cordelia doesn't say much EVERY sentence, I still think it is overused a bit, but I openly admit that that was an exaggeration. I still maintain that the characters could definitely have been better, but this book deserves 4 stars...It was an awesome storyline, but the characters needed to be pinned better. So there's my final review...

Summary: Fun, Fast-Paced Buffy Book!
Review: I didn't read this one until now, even though it's been out a while. I'm trying to catch up on Buffy reading, since I'm sort of new (just two years) to the Buffy universe and want to catch all I can, on t.v. and off! This book is great! The characters in this book are just like they should be, full of fun, quirkiness, curiosity, courage, and determination. I love their quips and their quarrels even as the danger grows around town. I think the Muses (wow, were they irritating and nasty!) as antagonists are a great idea (I see that was used later in the show), and it sure does put up a major problem. How does Buffy kill creatures who cannot die? I've read at least 15 Buffy novels so far and this is a favorite. I hope Massie does more.

Summary: OK book
Review: I liked this book in the fact that it combined two of my favorite things, Buffy and mythology. It could have used some improvements though.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The BEST Buffy book!
Review: I LOVED this book! It is one of the best Buffy books yet. I think the characters are very real, like in the show (Buffy, Oz, Willow, Xander) and the action is exciting! Read it to find out about the Moon family and why, even though I'm all for girls and boys being treated equally, these girls go way too far! I know people who are kind of like that, so that made it more fun to read to see what Buffy has to do!

Summary: This book sucked
Review: I read this book, while studying abroad in England. I was desperate for anything Buffy, because they were not airing any new episodes at the time. Despite the fact that I was seriously Buffy deprived, this book ranked as one of, if not the worst Buffy novelization in the series. As another reviewer stated, Cordelia used the word "much" too much. All of the characterizations wre off and it lacked the humor, which is so vital to "Buffy." Also the villains were a trio of boring Greek Goddesses, who just did not seem to be particularly threatening.

Summary: Not enough Angel
Review: I really liked this book. It had the Buffy/ Mythology that I was looking for; however, it was based in one of the seasons where Buffy and Angel were still together. I had hoped it would have more Angel. Still it was a good read.

Summary: A Fun Read
Review: I'm new to Massie's work, but have enjoyed everything I've read of hers so far. I don't know much about Buffy but checked this out and found it a fun and creepy story. It was interesting to the end. I would recommend it for people who are Buffy fans and even those, like me, who haven't spent much time in Sunnydale.

Summary: Doesn't seem to know the characters
Review: I've read all the Buffy novels, and this author doesn't have a grasp of the characters. The dialogue rings false, and basically the actions and words of the very familiar characters seem forced, which becomes very distracting. Therefore, I wasn't able to stay too interested in the plot, so I don't have much of an opinion on it. This is only the second Buffy novel I didn't finish in one sitting, the other being "Visitors."
