Summary: Favorite of the books Christopher Pike has written.
Review: Psycologicaly deep, as always with novels Christopher Pike writes. A classic. Very original, and disconcerting -- but that is what I look for in a novel.
We don't see Dusty as an enemy, from what he does, but rather a victim of his grandmother.
Enjoyed, to the point where it doesn't seem possible. But -- Sheila is not likable.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: How is this going to work?
Review: Right from the start, you know who the killer is. So how is this going to work? It is more about the investigation as a potential victim tries to figure out how to stop the maniac. It provides a few unexpected twists. But this is not Pike at full strength. Great sybolic ending, but predictable at the same time.

Summary: Girl from Kansas
Review: So, I read this book when I was 12, I am now 22, and I cannot ever forget it. I had nightmares for weeks. If you want to read this novel, I really hope you are over the age of 15.

Summary: A Different Perspective
Review: This book has an interesting take because it is told from the killer's perspective. I like this book because it makes you care about the killer. It lets people see him as a human being and not just some monster. From the start to the end this book had me in love with Dusty. I highly recommend this book for any Christopher Pike fan, or just anyone who's looking for a good book to read.

Summary: Dusty Shame rocks.
Review: This book is great, with many tiwsts and turns. The plot is great, with equally great characters like Dusty. Even though his mother and grandmother were just evil, they are well developed characters. Sheila was more like a standby character, not someone you could really think existed. Sheila and Matt were mostly characters that no one wanted to hear about. I mean, this is about Dusty!!! Dusty was just a really sweet guy, and it is too bad what happened to him in the end. This story about the Holocaust gives a new view and turn about the time that humans were ashamed to be humans. This book is one of Christopher Pike's best. It probes the mind and human condition, or, if you will, human nature perhaps??? Very touching, believable story. I think anyone who has read Mr. Pike's books will agree it is the best. I totally recommend it.

Summary: Another Haunting, Brilliant Pike Novel
Review: This book is one of Pike's best. Once again, the characters are brilliant and the plot is flawless. This book tells the story of Dusty Shame, a quiet high school senior. Dusty is a nice, sweet guy, with lots of family problems and few friends. But recently Dusty has been getting into some trouble--compelled by an unexplained voice, he has been grotesquely murdering girls from his high school. The most amazing thing about this is how much you come to care for Dusty, while simultaneously abhoring what he does. The mystery part of this book deals with what this voice is--is it supernatural or is Dusty just crazy? But for a novel about a teenage serial killer, this story goes much deeper than those unfamiliar with Pike would expect. Exploring Dusty's mind is scary and tragic, but Pike pulls it off brilliantly. This story goes all the way back to the tragedy of the Holocaust, looking for answers as to how mankind can be capable of such evil. A sort of subplot between Dusty's classmate Shiela and her boyfriend is interesting, but untimately distracts from the core of the novel, particularly at the end. The story is about Dusty, not Shiela and her stupid boyfriend. The ending of this book made me cry. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Although it is rather dark, this is a very powerful story
