Rating: Summary: This book is a classic in vampire erotica Review: I couldnt get over how good this book was overall (of course it was edited by Poppy z Brite ) this is one of those books that after you finish reading it you are deeply inspired and wondering about the way the world works you know what I maen? well at any rate I thought this was a wonderful and well written anthology that any fan of Brites would enjoy well hope you like it too. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Morbidly Beautiful Review: I must also say about this book.. what I did of the first one "Love In Vein 1" But his one I even liked a bit better. These tales are fantastically sick. They are not your usual tales of Vampires. They can be very morbid, and in it's morbidness they are beautifully disgusting. I loved them ! They are not for the faint of heart, or squeamish. Some are rather demented, all in all I would not recommend this book to everyone, only those who can appreciate the beauty of sickness.
Rating: Summary: As far as Vampire Erotica goes, this is fantastic! Review: I thought Love In Vein II was merely 'okay' until I read Brian Hodge's and Pat Califia's submissions. That's what made this book truly amazing. I highly recomend it, though some parts, I admit, are a little inane and repetitive. Once you get hooked, though (and I know you will!), I suggest following with Brite's collection of short stories, "Wormwood."
Rating: Summary: " the best of it's kind" " brilliant" " highly recommended" Review: I would have to say that this is #1 in it's class. If you love vampires then i highly recommend this. If not and you just have a curious appitite then you should deffinatly read this!
Rating: Summary: A very different kind of Anne Rice vampire. Review: It took me a long time to rate this book because I was torn over whether I should rate it 2 or 3 stars. This book is very different from Anne's other vampire chronicles (Lestat, Armand, etc.) and I like her older vampires so much more than this new character, Vittorio. Vittorio becomes a vampire at only 16 years of age. I know that back in the 1400's, that age was considered more grown up but to me Vittorio is just a child (he cries, etc.) and my own personal preference is in adult vampires (it's hard to get into the erotic parts of a book when the main character is only a teenager). I never felt a bond with Vittorio. He's much too calm for all that he endured and I found that hard to swallow. I felt no personal relationship with Vittorio, as I did with Rice's other vampires. I don't think that I liked the introduction of angel's (yes, angels from heaven) in her work; not to this extent anyway. Although I didn't care for the book, Rice's use of words helped in portraying beautiful imagery. It's very obvious that Rice has studied the Renaissance era and her book gives evidence to that. I give Rice 5 stars in her use of imagery but the story itself, well... I didn't like it much at all.
Rating: Summary: Vampire erotica? Review: The stories were fine, but to call it Erotica, is pushing it. If you want a good story, then you'll like this book. If you want Erotic Vampire fiction, I would suggest going elsewhere.

Rating: Summary: for the dark tortured soul that has everything Review: there is no need to buy you candles or other instruments of torture for you fear the daylight itself. for the dark & tortured soul who swears he/she has everything, you may wish to give them one of the love in vein books. my suggestion is to not give them anything sweet or easy on the eyes so why not start here? the 2nd volume of love in vein isn't something that you'll want to read & treasure forever but i think you just might need to check it out nevertheless. note of warning: this is a light-hearted read & i certainly don't recommend this book for young readers. love in vein is graphic, disturbing, & often explicit unlike goosebumps novels written by stine. now that we've addressed that, you should have a helluva time reading about the dark souls(even darker than ones we know) who do things which will definately constrict your throat. if anne rice is simply not as morose as you'd like, then these 18 fiendish tales of vampire erotica may very well satisfy your appetite. there are no tales here unfortunately written by the goddess of doom herself but she did carefully select some of the greatest works by other freakish writers who dare to illustrate worlds we've never visited before & should hope to never visit again. the characters here are far more punk than anything anne rice has ever written & many stories should leave you feeling a slight bit puzzled or a little light-headed as if our own blood were slowly being drained. great bedtime stories for couples if you are a couple of ghouls. unpleasant dreams!!
Rating: Summary: Thought-provoking collection Review: This collection is vastly superior to its predecessor, with some very strong writing indeed. You know it's going to be good when the book opens with Neil Gaiman's off-kilter retelling of the Snow White story. And no, it's not downhill from there. The following stories are well-crafted and fascinating. My favourite was "The Dripping of Sundered Wineskins" by Brian Hodge. It is an imaginative story about a modern-day wannabe saint, and the pre-Christian trinity he is obsessed with. I wish this could be made into a novel. I was wrapped-up in the world Hodge created. My only qualm about this book was the lack of an introduction. I'd really like to have read how Poppy chose these stories, and how she was introduced to the various authors. Ah well....
