Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: This book was excellent, no other word for it! Like almost of Pike's other books, excpet THE ETERNAL ENEMY was a downer though. GIMME A KISS AND THE MIDNIGHT CLUB ARE COOL TO, SO IS THE REMEMBER ME SERIES!
Rating: Summary: One of Pike's Best Review: About 100,000 years ago the original 5th planet exploded forming an asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Two pieces of that planet landed on Earth. One of those pieces formed Point lake in Point, Michigan. Mary shoots and kills two people at a party and then tries to kill her boyfriend Jim. Angela stops her. Angela visits Mary in jail and asks her why she did it. She replies "because they were all monsters." Angela does not believe her, until she finds out that she is turning into one herself. She vowed to stop them at any cost. It would cost all of her humanity to stop them. Later after she was tranformed into a monster, a man and a dog stumbled in the woods. She was up in the trees. She wanted to eat them but had a thought...... Humans are not for eating.Everyone should read his books!
Rating: Summary: The best thriller I've ever read. Review: Angela tries to stop her friend, Mary, when she bursts into a party
with a loaded shotgun, blowing heads off. Little does she know that Mary knows the truth behind the disappearance of people and the violent
killings that occur ever so often. She sets out to investigate and encounters various personalities. When she finally finds out the truth, it is too
late . . . . .
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS IN CREATION!!! Review: Besides The Last Vampire(which was also excellent),Monster was the first Pike book I ever read just this past summer. I LOVED it. Filled with fun and horror. If you are thinking about buying this book I promise you,you won't be disappointed!
Rating: Summary: NON-STOP Review: From the first sentence, you are hooked. Mary walks into a room and starts shooting people. Is she crazy, or is she telling the truth about them not being human anymore? I read MONSTER in two nights, only to catch my breath. So fast that you might as well be in the story.
Rating: Summary: An incredible novel. Pike is a genius. Review: I already loved Christopher by the time I read this novel. What a way to keep the fires burning, I absolutely loved this book. I am 18 now but as a young adult this is the closest I got to Stephen King. His books are scary, well detailed, and brilliant. Monster was a particular joy because it felt real and I couldn't put it down. I read all his novels even the young adult ones. I will still read them when I am 50 years old because I can't let him go.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I always find something interesting in Christopher Pikes books. Monster was a story of the towns people who are not acting just as they should. Then, along comes someone claiming they are monsters. Are they really monsters or is this bit of fiction brought on by delusions? Read this great book to find out.
Rating: Summary: Filled with suspense Review: I found the book Monster to be an excellent book for teens. Christopher Pike has a true gift of keeping pages turning. Once I began reading this book, I couldn't put it down. The way everything was described was wonderful, and the events in the book keep you reading. The book is about a teenage girl who walks into a party with a shotgun and shoots two people. While going after a third she is stopped by her best friend, Angela. Once becoming friends with the third victim, Angela starts to notice strange things happening to her, as she tries to figure out what's going on, the symptoms continue to get worse. What's happening to her? I reccomend this book to all teens who love horror.
Rating: Summary: Odd in a good way Review: I just got finished reading the book "Monster" by Christopher Pike. I personally liked the book but I though it was sort of strange and I don't think I would clssify this book as a thriller. I thought the ending was espeacially good, I'm not going to give it away but if you are thinking about buying a book, this is the one!
Rating: Summary: Christopher Pike is awesome Review: I love his young adult books, they are well thought out and thought provoking. He tells a simple conchise story and ties up all of the loose ends perfectly. His female characters also kick ass,(yes he can actually convincingly write women). He doesn't get as mired in the plot as he does with his adult books, when is actually a terrible shame. Most of his stories are completely original, mini masterpieces that hide behind the young adult genre. I really think he deserves to be a lot more famous than he is. This book is very well written. It includes all the good ingredients of a classic horror novel, freaky metamorphosis included. Sometimes, it borders on downright horrifying. The main characters, as they struggle with the basic aspects of humanity and their new hunger are realistically done. This book does hint at evil, but it also offers a motive. This book is also sassy and proud and doesn't take itself overly seriously. At times, it is amusing in a sickening sort of way. One of the characters buys four pounds of meat at the supermarket and eats half of it raw in the car. A couple other darkly amusing quotes are "He caught me trying to eat my dog, so what?" "Come on, you have to eat people, all the cool people are doing it". It all starts when Angela's best friend, Mary bursts into a party and shoots the head cheerleader and one of the football players. Christopher Pike announces this happens in the course of about 6 seconds, so nobody has a chance to react. When she turns to shoot her boyfriend, Angela and a couple other people try to stop her and everyone else just runs out of the house. Justice is finally extracted, at a price. The innocent get trampled and demolished. This book is not fair, and carries some of the most brutal killing scenes I have ever seen in any of his books. The pre-apocalyptic one was especially horrible, but this makes it stand out on it's own even more. It's a good story, it keeps you reading. I found the ending incredible, in a sad and beautiful kind of way.
