Summary: One of the BEST Christian books I've ever read!! *****
Review: I would reccomend this for anybody, Christian or non-Christian. Don't think just because it's a Christian novel it is boring. It has action, suspence, romance, ect... Anything you could wnat from any excellent non-fiction book. So read it for yourself and find out. There are 5 stars for ratings, it should get 6!!!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very mystical for a Christian novel.
Review: I think that I enjoyed This Present Darkness more. The Oath delt more with dragons and mystical beings rather than the reality of demons and angels. The message of the book was true though and I think that this was put across quite clearly. I really feel that the black spot over the heart made sense, especially for a non-christian reader. I enjoy Peretti's books and I hope that he keeps writing as well as he has been; after all, we can't let the world go on thiunking that Christians have no imagination can we?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: excellent ...especially for the avid hunters
Review: After finshing this book a year ago or so, I still remember the details of this novel. Peretti does a great job with the story line, character development, and fixing you in as a reader as if you were there. Maybe because I'm an avid hunter this Chirstian novel was more interesting and just as spirtual.

Summary: Didn't Make the Grade
Review: After greatly enjoying two of Peretti's other books, "This Present Darkness," and "Piercing the Darkness," I was disappointed with "The Oath." The story was interesting and engaging, however the characters lacked depth and I had the feeling that I was reading the same things over and over again. The story was an allegory, however there was not a strong enough development of the meaning or purpose within. This resulted in an unwillingness to suspend disbelief. The story needs at least one strong hero and a greater emphasis on good winning out over evil. I can't really recommend this one.

Summary: Overall a great book.
Review: This book starts a little slow but then quickly pulls you in. He does an excelent job of putting all of the parts together and creating a well-rounded, modern, fantasy, Christian novel. BRAVO!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Decent read, but not as good as the hype
Review: This was my first Peretti book -- and it was purchased based on the reviews I found here on Amazon.com. The story was interesting and the author does a good job of getting the message across about how having faith and God in your life can conquer all. However, I was not as impressed as my fellow readers. I couldn't "see" the action as I listened to the book (I have the audiobook version), so I didn't get as "involved" with the characters as I typically do when reading (or listening to) a good book. I did however, appreciate the message. That was refreshing and does make one think -- which it should.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best-book I've read yet. Peretti's genius comes through
Review: A master of suspense with Christian symbols mixed in. Peretti out did himself with this one. The Oath really shows how pertinent sin is in our lives, and how easily it can control a person. Excellent work!

Summary: A CLASSIC
Review: THE STORY LINE WAS ONE I HAD BASICALLY READ BEFORE BUT NOT IN THESE PROPOTIONS. PEOPLE DISAPPEAR BUT WITH A LITTLE TWIST. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ALMOST EVERYBODY B/C AS FRANK PERETTI SAID WE ALL HAVE OUR OWN LITTLE DRAGON WITH IN US. VERY GOOD BOOK.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolutely amazing!
Review: I'm not much of a reader, but this book was awesome! It was full of suspense and made me realize the awesomeness of God's grace--the only way for the good guy to live and survive his encounter with the dragon--sin--was to accept Jesus! It's so true and will make you realize the power of God and spiritual battles that go on every day in your life! It gave me a new perspective of God's grace and Satan's sneaky way of getting us hooked on to anything different than God.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: I was very disturbed at this dark book.
Review: Given the supposedly Christian nature of the book, there was far too much focus on the dark side, evil and very little on the good side. At least the first third of the book read like any common horror novel. I do not recommend it at all, and am disappointed. I've really enjoyed Mr. Peretti's earlier books.
