Summary: A pretty good Buffy novel with good characterizations.
Review: I found this to be a good addition to the Buffy novel series. It was a bit shorter than the other adult-length novels, but it didn't wrap up to fast. The characterizations were good, and the action was non-stop towards the end. Reccomended to all Buffy fans.

Summary: Prime Evil was great!
Review: I had just bought this book and finished it within a week! I loved this book because it has the same feeling from the show that is placed into it. I also thought it was nice to read about all of the charactors in there own story lines, like from the show. It is written very well with lots of feeling. The story line is original and is smoothly placed in the book. "Prime Evil" takes place somewhere in the third season, and is one of the best buffy books I have read yet! If you are into wicca, you would love this book!

Summary: very good
Review: i would have given this book five stars except at the start it dragged on a bit till it got good, but this book from the middle onwards was great! crystal gordon "shugra" wants to make a coven of witch potential people so she can be invulnerable and willow is the main target until she doesnt agree (it has to be free will) and while buffy and the others try to destroy crystal the woods have a plan of their own. even though i dont give this book five stars its still very good!

Summary: one of the better buffy books
Review: i've read quite a few of the buffy books, and they tend to be 2-3 star reads. they aren't exactly what anyone would call deep.

now that the show is over, i cannot help but read them- i can only watch the series on dvd so many times... i'm a definite buffy addict!

the new teacher in school- crystal gordon- is actually an ancient entity longing to create a coven & harness all of the world's magick. some of the flashbacks regarding her prior lives are boring, but this book gets extra kudos for more willow than usual. crystal makes a great foe; like glory (season 5) she is quite hard to beat.

if you're into buffy & you love willow, this is a pretty good choice among the buffy books- some of them are just plain silly (and that's saying a lot!)

have fun!

Summary: DECENT BUFFY NOVEL
Review: It's not the best but hardly the worst in the Buffy line of original novels that tie into the TV show. This novel takes place in what most people consider Buffy's prime, namely the third season where she is a senior at Sunnydale high school. The school has an attractive new history teacher named Crystal Gordon who just happens to be the reincarnation of an ancient primal witch. She needs to recruit and essentially use some students in order to regain her full powers. Buffy immediately notices something not right and the two share a strong dislike for each other. While Buffy shares her concern with Giles and the rest of the gang, Crystal is recruiting students to her cause...including Willow. Now the Scoobies have to stop the witch and rescue Willow before she becomes to powerful to stop.

Diana Gallagher has a good feel for the character of the Buffy-verse and the various characters talk and act just as they do on the TV show. Of course part of that is due to the control that Fox puts on the writers of these books. I understand they have pretty tight reins and call for lots of re-writes. The book does bog down a bit in the research phase of things as we learn about Crystals past but all in all it's a good effort and one of the better of the original Buffy novels.

Summary: The best book
Review: This book is really good. It has a lot of action and a sense of humor.

Summary: One of the better Buffy books
Review: This is the second Buffy book that Gallagher has written and she has come up with compelling plots both times. The first (Obsidian Fate) was marred by some inexcusable errors but this title is much better in that regard. A teacher is putting the whammy on Buffy, but given her lack of enthusiasm for history, Buffy thinks it's understandable. But there's much more at stake here, and soon Willow is being drawn into the teacher's spell along with Anya and others. Gallagher incorporates tidbits from the television episodes as well as from other books in the Buffy series, which heightens the sense of continuity. I would have liked for Angel to have had a bigger role, buth otherwise this is a much more successful effort than her first. Buffy fans should enjoy it.

Summary: Wicked Witch of the West
Review: This was a good Buffy book. It's about a new teacher that turns about to be something evil. (surprise, surprise)She's like a 3 thousand year old primitive witch who controls magic at her will and can ressurect into a new body at a time when powerful magic is being used (including Ancient Greece and the Salem Witch Trials)

So Buffy and Company decide to destroy the primitive witch: once and for all. But it's not so easy when she's got Anya under her spell and has jumbled all of Willow's words pertaining to magick.

And you thought your teacher was a witch...

Summary: The Slayerettes survive again
Review: This was a really good Buffy book. With so many different authors writing this series the moods of the characters are always different, but Ms. Gallagher does a good job keeping the characters real, the way we see them on the show. The book had an easy flow, and I liked the flashes back in history. Xander was his usual comic self, and Buffy wasn't portrayed as depressed as she is in a lot of the books in this series. I also liked that Joyce was in the book, because it is funny read how Giles and her interact. I recommend reading this book if your a hardcore Buffy fan.

Summary: prime evil: a prime example of a good buffy buffy novel
Review: When i heard that Prime evil was written by diane gallagher i was expecting to read a flop like obsidian fate. But prime evil is far from a flop it is quite a good and interesting addition to the buffy novel series. In Prime evil the reader can tell that gallagher has more of a grasp on how to write a buffy novel and how to write the characters we know and love. It was great to see Gallagher include the poor cordy and the crazy for xander Anya, it's little things like those that make the book fun to read. The villian of the piece seemed a little too powerful and at times it appeared that gallagher wasnt sure how she could have the characters defeat crystal. All in all though Gallagher is on her way to becoming one of the best writers that buffy has next to chris golden and nancy holder. The book movedat a good pace but there bits that seemed overly stretched or drawn out but other than that Prime Evil is a great read
