Rating: Summary: Prime Evil Review: An excellent addition to the Buffy the Vampire series. Creative new mythology keeps the reader interested. A fine villian for readers to hate and fear. Good continuity. The author has included many references to events which have taken place on the TV series. One criticism the romance between Angel and Buffy is mostly ignored even though the book is set at a time when it would have been central.
Rating: Summary: Does what other authors don't Review: Diana G. Gallacher, so far, has produced two great novels (the other being Obsidian Fate). It is simple what makes her work better than all the other Buffy authors, including Nancy Holder; she includes rarely used caharcters in her novels. In this novel she has used Anya, and the male witch Michael (Buffy fans should recognise him from "Gingerbread", series three). Diana also writes superb dialogue between all the characters, and has also managed to come up with an excellent evil human character, aside from the frequently used [in Buffy novels] Ethan Rayne (who does not appear in this novel).

Rating: Summary: Once again Diana Gallaghers Buffy Novel is Fantastic Review: First up is to say how good this book is, the plot is very original and its about witchcraft which i love, the book centers around a new teacher called crystal who gives Buffy and the scooby gang a bit more than they bargined for. The book like Dianas last Buffy novel (Obsidian Fate) is brilliant and Diana is definatly my fave author of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Sabrins The Teenage Witch series her books are so imaginative and Prime Evil is really cool as Anya is in it and she is so funny, also Joyce makes an appearence which hasnt happened much since christopher Golden and Nancy Holders Immortal I truly love this book and the ending is really great, i wont spoil it for you but strongly suggest you buy the book and never put it down like me. PrimeEvil is pure Class. This book is extra special as Diana dedicated it to me, i cant belive she did that, it was so nice. Thank you Diana.
Rating: Summary: One of the better novels in the series... Review: From the moment Crystal Gordon arrives at Sunnydale High, Buffy decides that there is something strange about this new teacher. With the help of Giles, she uncovers the legend of Shugra, an ancient witch strong in primal magic. Throughout the ages, this witch has been reborn into a succession of different bodies and now she has set about gathering a coven of young people who show magical promise. Her goal is total world domination and to achieve this she must trick thirteen teenagers into helping her. It is up to Buffy and the others to destroy Shugra's spirit forever''Prime Evil' is an excellent Buffy novel with good characterisation and plenty of action, particularly towards the end. The story took a while to get going and in contrast the last few pages seemed almost rushed. Crystal Gordon made an interesting villain and a worthy opponent for Buffy. Characters such as Michael and Anya who don't often appear in any of the novels, are given fairly major roles. One of the best things about this book was the mythology included and the flashbacks to ancient times kept it interesting. The descriptions of the primal magic are amazing and give 'Prime Evil' a mystical atmosphere - definitely one of the main highlights of this novel. Overall, this is one of the best Buffy books I have read so far and I would recommend it to all fans of the series. ~Jenna Ryan~
Rating: Summary: Prime Buffy Review: Gallagher captures the Slayer and the Scooby Gang perfectly! The book flows logically, even with the occasional trip to Shugra's past. The idea of primal magick and tying it into various historical events was brilliant. The characters are true to the television personas and make for a great read. I recommend this book to all the Buffy lovers out there.
Rating: Summary: Prime Evil was great! Review: Gallagher produces another superb entry in the Buffy book series. She excels at stories concerning the seduction of innocence, and this one is no exception. A charismatic new female teacher begins winning promising students into her own little secret society, including Willow. This being Sunnydale, it goes without saying that the teacher is more than she appears, and has a private agenda that doesn't include making the world a better place. A worthy read, even for those not familiar with the series.

Rating: Summary: A fine entry in the BtVS novels series Review: Gallagher's second book does a better job than the first of depicting the chemistry between the various Slayerettes (and it's character interaction that makes us love Buffy and her friends so). The plot's a little ho-hum, barely more than a way to get to the big climax at the end; but it holds your attention. Gallagher's writing has improved too. Not essential, but good.
Rating: Summary: A very good Buffy series addition Review: Here's a little overview of what Prime Evil is about: CrystalGordon comes to Sunny dale as the new History teacher at Sunnydale HighSchool, and immediately strange and supernatural occurances start to present themselves. Because of the way Buffy feels when she looks in Ms. Gordon's eyes, she goes to Giles telling him that maybe this new, beautiful teacher may have something to do with her uneasiness (as opposed to just being academically intimidated). The Slayer and Watcher decide to dig a little deeper into the paranormal mystery, and they find that there once was a very powerful witch named Shugra. Throughout time, the essence of Shugra is reincarnated into another female body to try and carry out entire world domination. You see, Shugra bares primal magick, which means that she in intune with the elements: earth, air, fire, water. She can control these elements with her mind, and therefore the strange red lightning attacks fully support Giles' and Buffy's theory that Crystal Gordon may be the reincarnated Shugra. Their theory is molded into cold, hard fact, however, when Crystal tries to get Willow to join her coven: the thirteen teen individuals who are promised great rewards if they help Crystal in her evil shananigans. However, even though Crystal's offer is far too tempting for Willow's liking, Willow turns down the proposed 13th position in the coven. Due to her defiance, Crystal grants a spell on Willow to make her unable to say anything regarding magick or Crystal herself (or Shugra for that matter). The description in this book is like no other; absolutely amazing! I was mystified by how the four elements were presented when Shugra unleashed the hellish storms set upon destroying the slayer and her friends and family. The only few complaints I have about this book are that Crystal Gordon was presented as the bad guy from the very start of the book, and there was no anticipation in finding out who Buffy had to face. It is a much scarier storyline to have an unknown entity threatening the Slayer's life. Second and last, the ending of the book was too rushed. The first 200+ pages led up to this one event, which barely took up three chapters. I was just slightly disappointed in how short the end was, although is was very captivating. I would definitely reccomend this book though, to whomever loves the Buffy series.
