Summary: Absolutely the best Buffy book to date!
Review: Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder have provided us with an *incredible* Buffy book in "Blooded"... even better than their "Halloween Rain!" After reading (and being greatly disappointed with) "Night of the Living Rerun," "Blooded" was a fresh read with an easy plot. Basically, Buffy and the gang release (by accident) an old (and powerful) vampire upon Sunnydale, where it wreaks havoc. The book richly describes background scenes and intertwines the past and present in a completely satisfying way. "Blooded" takes place after the second season of the television show and uses and/or mentions *all* the characters (like Cordy, Angel, and even Principal Snyder!). I found the book very funny with several inside jokes (if you watch the television show or surf the Internet). In fact, I found myself surprised that so much humor did not detract from the plot! I must say that this is the best Buffy book to date, a definite g! ! ood read with an excellent and masterfully woven plot. Readers will be sure to enjoy this one!

Summary: One Of The Great Ones
Review: Easily one of the best novels out so far. I've always thought that Willow should get more attention: she always seems to be on the background of everything while the show focuses on pretty much everyone else. The story was good, the characters were done well, good action scenes, great plot... I've said it before, I'll say it again: no one should be allowed to write Buffy novels than Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder. Definitely a great read.

Summary: Bodacious Buffy
Review: Golden and Holder have done it again. Well, technically, they did it *before* in Blooded, but as I read The Gatekeeper first . . . . Golden and Holder are masters at capturing the personalities of the Buffy characters. Almost without exception, the reader can *hear* the lines being spoken Sarah Michelle Gellar, et al. (Sometimes they are *too* successful, in fact; reading, "Um, yes, of course" from Giles over and over and over again can be tiring.) The plot is an interesting one, involving the importation of medieval spirits from China and Japan; flashbacks to the Far East flesh out these spirits and give the final conflict between them more resonance than a simple "evil dudes, use stake" battle.

Blooded is not, by any means, a perfect tie-in. The story drags at times and other reviewers have been justified in noting that the dynamic between the characters does not seem quite right. In fairness to the authors, we really do not know how much information was available to them when they wrote the novel. It appears they knew that Angel killed Jenny Calendar, but not the circumstances surrounding Angel's "resurrection." So, while *we* know that there remained a great deal of distrust between the Scooby Gang and Angel, and that Angel and Buffy themselves no longer slept together (literally slept!) to avoid temptation, the authors probably did not. And so they have Willow, Xander, et al., constantly thinking about how Angel tried to kill them, "but he was Angelus then, so that's okay." Golden and Holder should not have been expected to exactly predict the direction the series was going to go in.

Blooded is, however, an enjoyable, quick and painless read, one which should be enjoyable to all Buffy fans.

Summary: One of the many BtVS books you can't put down.
Review: Hey, I love all of the buffy books and all of the characters in them. This book was especially good because I like it when Angel worries about Buffy, and shows his love for her!! You can't read fast enough to find out what happens, and definitly you can't put it down. I am glad they are making some books on the other characters and not only Buffy, because you need some variety. It was also neat to read about how Xander was worried about Willow aswell. I just LOVE THE SHOW!!! If anyone wants to e-mail me, feel free. Ask a question, whatever, I would love to hear from a fellow fan. P.S.I would give any Buffy book the highest rank I could.

Summary: Great book!
Review: I happened to quite like this bood, mostly because of the Willow and Angel interactment. As I happen to be one of the hundreds of W/A shippers out there I enjoyed this book because it had by far the most W/A interaction of all the books.

The bad?

Too much Buffy/Angel sappyness.

Suggestions?

An alternate series of books around the W/A relationship!...Just an idea!

Summary: It was alright..
Review: I have read several of the Buffy novels and I must say this one is the best. A lot of die-hard show fans are constantly complining of the lack of conection to the show. The idea going into the novel are intresting and unique but the writng is apallaing.

Summary: A Very Good Buffy Book!
Review: I have to admit, I have a sentimental attachment to this book. It was the first Buffy book in the series I had ever read, and now I'm addicted to these books. I've read them all. I love Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder. Their books are definitly the best in the series. They are a very good team, and they write beautifully. The characters are written very well, and it's chock-full (what a word!) of typical Buffy humor. It's a great book. The only problem I had with it was all of the jumping back to ancient China and Japan. It had the book a little confusing, but if you read carefully, it all makes sense. I love this book!

Summary: Fun, but Lacking
Review: I have to say, this book is pretty low on my list right now. The premise on which this book is based is okay, but no more than okay. The characters were written not as well as i'd expect, and the plot itself seemed to wobble. Humor is scarce and i wuld expect much more from Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder.
If you're looking for a good buffy read(...).

Summary: Pretty Groovy!!
Review: I loved the book! It was kind of hard to understand the part about Chinesse history, but the plot was great! I recommend it to any Buffy fan like me! I read the book in like three hours(not non-stop) and I read it again the next day! The characters were funny and cool! Willow also had a major self-esteem boost! Definetly a good read!
