Summary: Great book with action and romance!
Review: "Blooded" is an edge-of-your-seat read. It is based on an episode that hasn't aired, which makes it even more interesting for hard-core Buffy fans like myself. It is filled to the brim with fights, yet it is also extremely romantic. Even though the situations in the book are very serious, there are some hilarious lines that are great comic relief. If you love Buffy, you'll love this book!!!!!! I sure did!!!

Summary: Excellent
Review: A very good book indeed. Its nice to see a dark side to Willow, and lots of inside jokes from the show. Lots of info about Japan too and nice to see the characters stay the same character.

Summary: Buffy's back and at her best
Review: Although the book begins on a totally different story from the main story, this book was higly enjoyable. I felt so sorry for "Weeping Willow", and I was pleased when Buffy let Chirayoju use her body instead of Willow's. I bought this book yesterday and I had it read by last night. I hope they make this into an episode ( or maybe it already is, as I only saw Series 1 & 2 )

Summary: A Buffy book that captures the spirit of the series!
Review: As a college student who watches Buffy on a regular basis, it was nice to read a book that truly isn't a teenage book. While I liked some of the other books written in the series, they were written on a level that was much too simple; an easily understood since they were young adult books. This book however is written in a way that is much more appealing to an older viewer of the show. It is funny in the way that the series is funny, with many different levels. I really enjoyed it, and look forward to more books of this level.

Summary: A great book, but it was a little offending
Review: Being asian myself, i thought it might be interesting to see how nancy holder and chris golden would write their asian vampires. i'm a huge fan of buffy the tv show, and recently i became seriously addicted to reading buffy books, and they are all so good. but this one, i found to be a little offending. for one, there is no chinese name "chirayouju". and the authors made it seem that the chinese vampire did not even know what a computer is. and in japan, people lived in little straw huts on the side of a mountain and they did not seem to have any modern advances that the normal world does (like real asian people do). but... this book was veyr good and towards the end it got to be very exciting and you couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen to everybody because everybody has a big part in this story.

Summary: The best Buffy book to date
Review: Blooded is the best Buffy book to date and truly captures the spirit of the show.A must for all Buffy fans

Summary: I definitely recommend Blooded
Review: Blooded rocked! It had really up to date pop culture references, interesting character development and a really wicked villain. I liked the Asian history lesson and the fact that Willow gets to do some really out of character activities during the course of the story. However, I was really confused by the Buffy/Angel relationship in the story. How long had he been back from hell when this takes place? Also, it seemed a bit more violent than the show, especially when describing the vampire's past. And there wasn't enough of Oz in the story. His girlfriend is going through a crisis and he's barely there. But I loved Xander's Scooby Gang breakdown and his "Puppy Power" comment. I would definitely recommend it.

REVIEW

The fourth original Buffy novel, Blooded opens quickly with a fun and rousing battle between the Scoobies and a vampire who fancies himself King Lear. Soon after the Whitehats' success, Willow accidentally pricks her finger on an ancient sword while visiting the museum. Not surprisingly, havoc ensues as Willow is slowly possessed by an ancient Chinese vampire named Chirayoju--only things become even more complicated as Chirayoju's ancient enemy, Sanno, decides to possess Xander in order to fight Chirayoju, with Buffy caught in the middle. Golden and Holder worked hard to draw upon Japanese and Chinese mythology, and incorporated several elements into the novel's backstory.

Overall, Blooded is an average Buffy novel. The dialogue is okay with a few good laughs sprinkled in. Perhaps the best part of the novel concerns Willow (pre-possession) where she deals with her sense of vulnerability and inferiority to Buffy after being mugged by some street thugs. Other good moments include Cordelia and Xander's constant bantering, and demon-possessed Willow beating Xander savagely. Unfortunately, the idea of one of the Scoobies being possessed by some sort of demon isn't exactly unique in the Buffy mythos, and the novel has an overly long and melodramatic ending. Blooded isn't a terrible novel, but with better ones to choose from should probably be of interest only to completists.

Summary: Absolutely the best Buffy book to date!
Review: Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder have provided us with an *incredible* Buffy book in "Blooded"... even better than their "Halloween Rain!" After reading (and being greatly disappointed with) "Night of the Living Rerun," "Blooded" was a fresh read with an easy plot. Basically, Buffy and the gang release (by accident) an old (and powerful) vampire upon Sunnydale, where it wreaks havoc. The book richly describes background scenes and intertwines the past and present in a completely satisfying way. "Blooded" takes place after the second season of the television show and uses and/or mentions *all* the characters (like Cordy, Angel, and even Principal Snyder!). I found the book very funny with several inside jokes (if you watch the television show or surf the Internet). In fact, I found myself surprised that so much humor did not detract from the plot! I must say that this is the best Buffy book to date, a definite g! ! ood read with an excellent and masterfully woven plot. Readers will be sure to enjoy this one!
