Summary: Great Story!
Review: I thought it told the story of 28 yr old stony very well and then when it went back to when he was 15, it did so in a manner that was NOT confusing at all. I took my time with this book because I could tell it was a complicated story and I was afraid if I read it too fast I would have a hard time understading it. I just finished it last night, been reading on it since Christmas day. It's a good horror story. I do think it's a little too complicated to be made a movie though. The movie makers probably wouldn't do it justice anyways. Very good book! Liked it a lot!

Summary: I'd give this 10 stars if I could!
Review: Just a great read. The story just keeps getting better and better. It's everything a good horror novel should be. I have not read one like this in a while. This is far better than even some of Stephen King's recent books! It's true horror, suspense, thriller - this one has it all... not to mention a very original story.

I'll definitely be looking for more of Douglas Clegg's books.

Summary: A very good novel
Review: I ordered this three weeks ago and started itlast Sunday night and could not put it down. It reads quickly and is eye opening in terms of the horror and the slow build in this story to a really brutal moment in the book. The Halloween Man by Douglas Clegg ranks as one of the all time horror novels. Iam amazed I missed this in hardbound since I collect good novels. I almost passed on this because the title didnt do it for me, but this was worth getting and reminded me of what I used to like in horror more. The story of Stony and Lourdes and the secrets in this town are what make the book so great. I give it 5 stars.

Summary: Not Just a book for Halloween
Review: Douglas Clegg is a fantastic writer. I really sank into this book and could not put it down it was so involving. I'm going to go find his other books. This is like discovering Stephen King for the first time.

I wish this book were longer. I could read it again, it had that much going for it. I am going to get copies for all my friends for Christmas.

Summary: The BEST HORROR NOVEL!
Review: This is one of the top novels I've ever read--as good as Stephen King's The Shining. Read it, get it, it's wild--it made me scared and made my cry at the great love story.

When Stony Crawford kidnaps a kid and takes him back to the village in New England where Stony was born and raised, all the dark secrets of his youth rise up to haunt him.

Summary: I read better.
Review: While I read the book I didn't like all the stupid curseing. I mean curses aren't that bad, but when you go overboard with them, (As they did)it takes away from the story a bit.

Summary: CLEGG IS UP THERE WITH THE VERY BEST
Review: The moment I opened "The Halloween Man" I couldn't put it down. The story leaves you in suspense as you turn each page. I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves a good story, told by an amaziing storyteller.

Keep em' coming Clegg

Summary: this is the best horror novel I have ever read
Review: I am a big Stephen King fan and I can recomend his new one, *Bag of Bones*, but then I bought this one at the same time. This is the best horror story I have ever read. My only problem with it was it went too fast and before I knew it I had already finished reading it. Gave me a lot of real goosebumps and surprises, which does not happen alot to me when I read horror fiction.

*The Hallowe'en Man* is worth it. I'm careful about how I spend money in horror fiction because there is so much bad stuff out there. This book is not part of the bad at all. I have to recommend it for anyone who thinks horror fiction means bad writing so they could see that there is great writing in horror.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Highly recommended for horror fans.
Review: Doug Clegg's lastest offering into the horror market is truly amazing. This book far surpasses anything by Straub or King. The character of Stony Crawford and his mythic quest to discovery of his own identity and to the resolution of the heroic and horrific journey make for a rollercoaster read. I am still shivering at the imagery and power of Clegg's work. This is his finest book so far.

Summary: Clegg meditates on Love, Good vs Evil...a success!
Review: THM is a tale, broad in scope, that meditates on the duality of evil vs good. It's epic in it's attempt to pull together a myriad of characters, histories of people and places and consequences. It is a tale of a town, Stonehaven, and its mysteries. It's a tale of Stony Crawford's life and what happened to him at age 15 and what was let loose. It's how he deals with what he is and what he will, eventually, become. It's about love. It's about good and it's about evil. But above all, it is a great success. Stonehaven, like most towns, has secrets. But these are old secrets, even ancient. One man, Alan Fairclough, hunts out a myth...but finds it to be true. A weaver (or "spinner")of tall tales, Nora Chance, tries to tell Stony the truth about him and his heritage. She also spins on about The Halloween Man and his place in the world, past and present. But Stony is the main point of this novel. His travels, his actions and his ultimate honesty with himself and those like him. Sorry if this is vague, but I don't want to ruin the joys, anguish and redemptive powers this novel contains. Douglas Clegg has raised the stakes: for himself, as well as for the genre he writes in. Recommended.
