Summary: Voodoo mixes with the modern world
Review: By bringing the ancient craft of voodoo out of its common settings, and placing it in modern society, the author has succeeded in creating an original tale. The mystery surrounding Meg's origin became ever more intriguing as the story continued, and the introduction of the people and clues that will eventually lead up to her origin keep the suspense growing all throughout the book. The characters, although some had extraordinary traits and gifts, were real, feeling individuals, with whom you were able to empathize. Unfortunately, I was not aware that this book was a story in two parts when I started to read it. Now I am waiting anxiously for part two to come out!

Summary: Disappointing - Two Thumbs Down and a Round of Boos & Hisses
Review: I absolutely love Wendy Corsi Staub and thought this book would be up to her usual high caliber. I was sadly disappointed.

This tired story is the classic good twin/evil twin. Meg, the good twin lives in Crawford Corners, Connecticut (how's THAT for alliteration)? and only just discovers she is one half of a set of twins. Candra, the twin, lived in Jamaica until her adoptive grandmother's employers moved to Connecticut.

Naturally there are some mix ups and embarrassing encounters involving Meg and Candra. Meg's foolish mother, punitive stepfather and out of control half sister add to her list of woes; Candra's appearance and determination to take over Meg's life does not improve things.

I thought the character of Rosamund, the adoptive grandmother was implausible as was the character of Dahlia Parker, the psychic. I was really disappointed in the story and thought it was just a flat caricature and a heavy reliance upon stereotypes.

In a way, it's kind of too bad "Possession," the sequel was never published. You are left wondering why the twins' mother got involved in black magic and why the girls were separated.

My suggestion - skip this book and read all of Wendy Corsi Staub's other works instead. This is the one exception to her rule -- the one poor work among a stream of good works. No wonder she wrote under a pseudonym when this one was written.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I bought this at a used book store, no where did it indicate that there was a sequel, until the last chapter. Then I went out to find the sequel only to find it was never published (last chapter said "Possession, coming in 1997.") Don't bother reading it, without the sequel available. The heroine is in danger, the antagonist is in the middle of her evil plot, end of story, no sequel . . . no point in reading.

Summary: Disappointing - Two Thumbs Down and a Round of Boos & Hisses
Review: I read this book over three years ago and could not put it down. It was mine boggling and it sent chills to my brain. I later went on a search for the continuation of this book, but was disappointed to hear that it was cancelled. I hope that whom ever makes decisions on the release of Posessions, help make the fans happy one more with the release of the book.

Summary: An easy, entertaining read.
Review: Interesting mix of paranormal powers, evil and ignorance. The ending leaves one suspended right smack in the midst of the cosmos and tops it up by sending one spinning in and out of reality, for in desperation to know the fate of the characters in the supposely to have existed 1 year ago follow- up book- Possession... of which the wait has developed an intensity enough to send a blade of grass fatally thru' Mighty Joe Young. WHERE IS IT!!!!

Summary: Very intresting book
Review: Obsession was a very good book. It was hard to put it down. I felt bad for Meg because she wanted to meet Candra. I have been looking for the sequel posession for over a year. Please help me find it. E mail me if you have any info!

Summary: mixed emotions
Review: On one hand this is a pretty good book. It was spooky and held my interest until the last page but as other reviewers have said, it's too much like Stranger With My Face and I felt ripped off.
