Rating: Summary: Slop bucket of a book Review: "See you tomorrow," I repeated, "And thanks." "I hung up. I had a smile on my face. I could see it in my dresser mirror." That was some of the childish and choppy dialect R.L. Stine uses in the book, The Dare. R.L. Stine's worst book award definitely goes to The Dare. This book, about a lovestruck girl pressured to kill a teacher, is an embarrassment to R.L.'s other work. The plot of this book misses all that is needed in a good horror book. The main character, Johanne, is a poor naive teen that lacks any moral value. One day, a popular boy Denise stirs up a conflict over nothing with a teacher, Mr. Northwood. Johanne rushes to his side. Somehow in this mixed up love triangle, R.L. Stine throws in conflict, a gun, a teacher about to get killed, a teen trying to kill, and a teen wanting to kill. And then..."BAM," he has a book. This book didn't have any real heat or conflict. Unfortunately I have a have a habit of finishing books I've started and I knew that it was going to be a bad book, two pages in. The ending was like a soap opera. My nine year old brother once wrote a story about a cheese monster. It was better than this book. You'll have to read the book to see what happens...even though I wouldn't recommend it!
Rating: Summary: THE DARE WAS... Review: a bit dissapointing, I must admit. But worth reading because it was very surprising and very original. Very different. You won't be able to guess what was really going on, but that doesn't make up for how dissapointing the explanation was. However, it just goes to show how creative R.L.Stine can be and that's why I gave it four stars.
Rating: Summary: Not the best Review: I don't think this is the best R.L. Stine book he has written. It is so predictable! Even tho it's predictable (2 me n e ways) it's an ok book 2 read...not the best but it's ok!!
Rating: Summary: This was a very intresting book to read. Review: I think that "The Dare" is a very intresting, elaborate, and original book. It was very exciting. How R.L.Stine thinks up stories, such as these, is a real mystery. This book is very realistic. The part about how there is the popular group and the unpopular group is life like. The unpopular group will usually do anything to be excepted by the popular group, so this story is based on real terms. I found that it was interesting how the popular kids could persuade a teacher just because they had money, and they could do basicly whatever they pleased because their family has more money. I think that this is one of those books that you just can't put down. You have an anxiety to turn the page and keep reading. This book and deserves the five stars that I gave it. It is very discriptive and enjoyable to believe. I reccomend that anyone that like horror, suspense, or romance to read this book because it has it all. I think that R.L.Stine has a very creative mind and he has expressed it in this book. So, ifyou ever want a good book to read, go to the library and get "The Dare."

Rating: Summary: Not So Bad Review: I thought that in this book that you already know who the killer is but you really don't. It was good, not so bad. I think that if i had to choose between this and "Cat" by R.L. Stine. It would be a tie. But it was great and everything and I liked it. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
Rating: Summary: Didn't have a great suspense! Review: I would have to say that this wasn't the greatest book but it wasn't the worst! The book started off good but the ending was a total give me! I can see how some kids relate to the popular crowd, but to be in the crowd doesn't take you that extreme! But, all in all, it was a good book to buy!
Rating: Summary: The Dare Review: Its a good book, it has the suspense to make you want to turn the next page. You will enjoy this book. It has romance, horror, and suspense all under one cover!
