Summary: Enthralling, Yet Absurd At Times
Review: "Master of Lies" opens with a rather gruesome murder scene--of the Berry family being ritualistically killed by the Fog City Satan, a man who has killed five families in California so far in order to resurrect Belial (aka Beli Ya'al), a fallen angel. If you can get through this first chapter, then you can probably make it through the rest of the book.

Thirty-eight-year-old Detective Larry Foggia is assigned to the case because of his unconventional methods of solving crimes. His investigation leads him into the occult--seances, talking hands, shrinking people, and the like. But as he delves deeper into the supernatural, his life and soul--including those of his family--become greatly at risk of being taken by Belial.

Generally, I don't like reading books that have extremely long chapters (this one averages about 37 pages a chapter), but once I started "Master of Lies" I couldn't put it down, probably because of the graphic first chapter. The beginning half of the book is enthralling, but as the story progresses, it began to get a little absurd, i.e., magically-shrinking women; so I had to give it a 4-star rating instead of a 5. However, I'd still recommend this book to Masterton fans, as well as Dean Koontz fans who are into the supernatural horror genre.

Summary: Another exciting ride.
Review: A fast paced, exciting and in parts grusome ride. Masterton is as good as King or Koontz anyday. He has a direct, down to earth style with some pretty good twists.

This was my first Masterton book, I've since read Walkers and The Manitou. I also plan to read all of his other ones.

This is one Occult thriller that will give you the creeps even if you are reading it in the familyroom with your loved ones watching football on a Sunday afternoon.

Summary: Gory and makes you not want to look into your palm....
Review: A great book, once again, from the MASTER(ton) of horror. it was greatly written and action to the end. This was one of hi GORIEST books around. It is a GREAT reading!! I recommend this book to all horror fans. Masterton is the most UNDERATED auther i ever seen. In my opinion he can out do Dean Koontz and Stephen King by far. At least with MASTERTON I never fall asleep. I've read eight of his novels and will try and collect them all to prove that he is the best horror writer around.

Summary: Another exciting ride.
Review: A serial killer is actually trying to raise an ancient demon from the dead and the cop on the case discovers his family is closely linked to the soon to be released creature. Although guilty of being over the top and repeating a winning formula (each book seems to revolve around the discovery of a soon to be released elder god of some such and the heroes frantic race against time to stop its arrival, the beast does arrive and the climatic battle to send it back begins - that is just about every Graham Masterton horror novel in a thumb sketch) Masterton nonetheless never plays down to his readers and injects a good sense of humor about the gruesome goings on in between some serious mayhem. Not for the weak of heart that's for sure.

Summary: Sleek, nasty and scary but a tad familiar - it's Masterton!

Summary: a very good horror book from one of the greatest UK talent
Review: G.Masterton is a very good author, i read almost all his book (±25). In this one you can find two principal theme : first the serial killer then second the demon itself. Masterton always one of the best to talk about demon & theology. He has a very rare talent to mix real religion stuff with fiction. The mix is always explosive. Make sure to read this one . But i advertise you, this book is not for children or scary people. This is a real horror book with very chilly taboo subject. be sure to read apparition & demence too from the same author

Summary: Brutal and ghastly horror
Review: Homicide detective Larry Foggia has a real problem on his hands. So does the entire city of San Francisco. A serial killer is on the loose and he kills with such violence and cruelty he is dubbed "The Fog City Satan". In the killer's twisted mind, he is sacrificing people to raise an ancient demon who will give him immortal powers. Unfortunately for Larry Foggia and all of humanity, his plan is working. Beneath the city, a dark God imprisoned for centuries is about to take over the throne of humanity. He is The Master of Lies and the oceans will fill with blood when he rises from his tomb... Graham Masterton is one of the absolute masters of horror fiction. Nobody can touch his imagination and ability to scare readers. Even though I'm a huge horror fan, the first chapter of this book was so saddistic and bloody, I was almost afraid to keep reading. Highly recommended to horror fans who think they can't be shocked or scared anymore.

Summary: Master Of Lies is yet another masterpiece from Masterton
Review: i have read many horror novels and many by Graham Masterton, this is his best work so far. I couldnt put it down it kept me spellbound throughout the entire book. His attention to detail is superb, one can really start to believe that this could be a work of non-fiction if you dont have a good grasp of reality. Way to go and keep em comin

Summary: Gore, Gore and a fantastic story!!!
Review: I like to think that I am a horror buff and it takes a lot to shock me. But...This book has some of the most distubing, graphic and descriptive writing I have ever (ever) read, if it can make me squeamish it must be bad.
