Summary: shattered
Review: I ENJOYED THIS EASY TO READ THRILLER. IT REMINDED OF THE TV MOVIE DUEL AND I THOUGHT THE PACE OF THE BOOK WAS VERY GOOD. TRUE IT IS NOT ONE OF DEAN KOONTZ'S MORE COMPLEX WORKS. BUT IT IS A VERY GOOD THRILLER.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: AFTER I READ THIS I FELT.....SHATTERED.
Review: I have enjoyed DK's books in the past but this one fizzles. The characters are dull. Theres no character that you can really connect with.the only simi likable character is colin. There's one scene with only meager suspense and the rest is basically a cat and mouse game full of bad dialouge and laughable thoughts. Leave this one on the shelf, if you want a good DK novel check out Intensity or Dragon Tears.

Summary: Great Yarn
Review: I must disagree with those who thought this particular work slight or not up to par with the other ones. It was, in its own way, just as harrowing and frightening as WATCHERS or PHANTOMS. It's another Koontz favorite - the young lad with the older man. In this case its Colin's soon-to-be brother in law who takes him on a cross country relocation ride in the car.

Only someone is following them, threatening and closing in. It;s true that this is not as complex as others, or as long, and it does not have a love story (except by proxy) but it makes up for all of that with tense suspense and action. This is a jewel - a miniature to be sure - but a real jewel.

Summary: Good read with a few Flaws
Review: I must say this is a good book. Though it is pretty short, about 100 pages. This makes for a very short read. That may be good or bad, it depends on what your looking for. The story is not all that original but told well. The characters are also pretty likeable.

The only real complaint I had was that the ending really didn't tie every thing up. I just felt it needed more closure. All in all though it was a good book and Definitely worth the read.

Summary: Short, but not especially sweet
Review: I read this from one of his 3-novel collections, and it's one of the weakest Koontz novels I've read. The villain was rather weak, with only a few of his qualities being interesting. His intentions and motives are standard cookie-cutter. Some tension is built with sudden mentions of his van. There is not enough fleshing-out of the "hero", and the ending feels abrupt and not worth the trouble, while also being a little predictable. It's only a hundred pages, so it only took me a couple hours to hammer out. The main cop that was mentioned was a waste, with no conclusion for him written. The "encounters" the hero has with "discrimanatory" people along the way are annoying and cliched. Still, it was fun to follow their cross-country pursuit on my road atlas.

Probably just for Koontz fans, and I firmly count myself as one.

Summary: Shattered Braincells!(I Couldn't finish it!)
Review: I've read a substantial amount of Mr. Koontz's books, while some are pretty good, others are just plain awful!!! and this book takes the cake on bad. The child character in this book is so unbelievabley ridiculous, you keep wishing he would kill him off violently early, the dialogue is trite and incondite , while reading [Shattered], the words will send you into fits of exquisite frustration, growing and building until it becomes pure torture.... I wanted to tear my eyes out!. Ludicrous overall story doesn't help either, try [Phantoms] instead while not perfect by any means, it is 100 times better than this piece of trash. Also avoid [Twilight Eyes] another super stinker!

Summary: HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! Dean's Worst Book.
Review: Just don't read it... It is his worst work he has ever done. Trust me I have read 14 Knootz books and this one was heads and tails above all others when it came to lousy-ness. Read Mr. Murder or Watchers.

Summary: Short but has the same effect
Review: Philadelphia to San Francisco you're followed by a van. You lose it, but it returns, How do they know where you're going? An unique villan as only Koontz does it. Yet another Twisted mind that Koontz creates

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: One of his best early titles
Review: Read it in 2 days. Couldn't put it down. The story of being followed across country on a desolate stretch of highway is terrifying
