Rating: Summary: Time for Andrew Review: My book is about a character who finds a sick boy, and that the boy was from the future. Andrew's sister, and John thought they were going to live a long long time, and that Andrew's sister was ruining his life. Read this book, and find out if Andrew dies or not.
Rating: Summary: Love the book. Great for nighttime reading to my son. Review: The book doesn't really rest on the fact that it's billed as a "ghost story." What I find enchanting when I read it to my son at night is the way (and details) that the author draws on the America of the turn of the century. She really creates the feeling of being there in a kinder, gentler time of this country. My son and I view it more as a trip to a past that appeals to us. Even though he's only 10 years old, he asks if this would be what it was like when his deceased grandmother was a kid. I'm on the 4th or 5th reading of it for him, and I've read it a couple times just for my own pleasure. I lknow the author has a couple ghost books for girls; I'd love to see her (if she's still living) come out with another comparable book for boys. In sum, a quiet, gentle book ideal for reading at bedtime - no cliffhangers at the ends of the chapters.
Rating: Summary: This book is a wonderful read aloud to elementary students. Review: The students are sitting in story time waiting for me to read the next chapter. Several of the students have gotten the book out of the library to read along with me. It's very suspensful!
Rating: Summary: A book of suspense and mystery. Review: This book is an amazing book about a young boy named Drew who is visiting his great-aunt Blythe while his parents are in France looking at Roman remains. One day while Drew and his aunt are coming down from the attic Drew finds some marbels under a floorboard in the stairs. That night a figure comes out of the attic into Drew's room named Andrew who is suffering from diptheria claims the marbles are his. Drew switches places with him to travels back to 1910. There he meets Andrew's parents, sister Hannah, and brother Theo. The only way for Drew to return to his time is to win a marble game called ringer. Hahn's story is brethetaking, some psrts emotional and extreamly exciting. I insist you read it.
Rating: Summary: Good Book Review: This book is slow but good. If you like a slow book, this is a good book for you.First Andrew [ From the past ] is sick. In his time they can't cure the disease but in the future they can. And there is Drew [From the future ] Andrew wants to be cured BUT.....................Will Drew change places? You have to read the BOOK to find out.
Rating: Summary: The Ghost Review: This book is so cool! Better yet, stupendous! It's a very interesting ghost story. It's about this boy who goes to his Grandma's house and finds a ghost that looks exactly like him. This book is probably for kids ages 9-13.
Rating: Summary: Great book, Hard to put down Review: This book kept me reading for hours because it kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the book and I would recommend it to any kids my age.( I am an 11 year old boy) I was disappointed after I finished this exciting book because I knew that it was going to be hard to find another book as good and mysterious as Time For Andrew. I haven't been reading that much lately but my mom found this book for me and now I want to find more good books to keep reading. I hope you kids out there that want to read a good book read Time For Andrew.
Rating: Summary: Just in Time Review: This book takes you back and forth in time. It starts out with present-day Drew, who discovers he has a lookalike ancestor named Andrew. Somehow the two meet and trade places to save Andrew's life. After that, Drew experiences adventures in his otherwise quiet life. My favorite was the part about the bridge when Drew faces his biggest challenge. I also loved the surprise ending. I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: Time for Andrew was amazing! Review: This is a book about two boys named Andrew. One night Andrew the ghost came and switched places, with the other Andrew. Rating: Summary: Time for Andrew!!! This book is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This is a great book to read if you like ghost stories. Drew is an eleven-year-old boy that lives in modern times who is calm and follows the rules. Andrew is also an eleven-year- old boy. He is from the early nineteen hundreds but he is mischievous and never follows the rules. In this story Andrew and Drew trade lives. But of course things don't work out and Drew is stuck in the past until he can beat Andrew, the marble champion of 1910, in a game of marbles. I think the theme of this book is there is no place like home. To find out what happens to Drew and Andrew, read this exciting ghost story Time for Andrew by Mary Downing Hahn.
