Rating: Summary: Why I would become a vampire.... Review: Personally, in reading The Vampire LeStat I found in myself a new understanding of the world at large. I never have been so moved by a book of hopeless dreams. In my estimation this book moves one to dream to become a vampire if only to be looked upon by LeStat himself. This book completely engrosses the reader in the life of one man, a saint, a monster, a soulful creation of evil embodied in a beautiful vessel. I mourn for LeStat, I feel for him, and I join him in his journeys each time I think of the book. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in vampires. Anne Rice creates a brilliant look into the meanings of vampirism and in me has created a level of existence possible for not only immortals, but mortals as well
Rating: Summary: A COMPLETE SENSUAL STORY OF THE VAMPIRE LESTAT Review: This is my first vampire book and my first book of Anne Rice's. I saw the movie IWAV in the movies when it first came out and after reading the Vampire Lestat I was compelled to rent IWAV. I love the way she describes in great detail Lestat's mortal life. I believe that the type of person and the past that a mortal lives has everything to do with what kind of immortal they will become. I am very interested in what became of Gabrielle and I would like for Lestat to become more intimate with women besides his mother and an ancient one. One difference between the character Lestat in the book and in the movie is his attraction to men. He is not drawn to men as he is in the book. I don't believe that Lestat is gay persay but maybe being immortal makes them bisexual especially since they can't "procreate". Although Lestat was drawn to Nicki long before he was immortal.Hmm.. Anyhoo the book is excellent. I am definitely going to pick up another of Anne Rice' soon
Rating: Summary: Incredible, enchanting book Review: Wow. Ok. I must start off with the fact anne rice is such an amazing writing. She captures the sensuality and mystery of vampires in the perfect way, she allows to beautiful landscapes to become alive in your mind. This book is my favourite of the vampire chronicles (I have yet to read #5). This characters are vivid as is the background the scenes are set in. It's just a memorising book that any Anne Rice fan should love, along with any fan of gothic literature. I guarantee by the end of the book you will be in love with Lestat too girls :)
