Summary: A great book for a snowy weekend.
Review: "Serpent's Dance" is a sexy, gripping thriller - a page turner to the very end. Larry Brooks takes us on a roller-coaster ride, so be sure you have a lot of free time because you won't want to put this book down once you start reading. The protagonist is smart and sexy with an agenda to seek vengeance for her sister's death. Along the way, Larry spirits us into the jet-set world of a workaholic executive and dark world of the sexual fetish and its implications. There are many twists and turns, so put on your seat belt. With 50 pages to go, I still couldn't predict the ending. It will definitely make you slam on your brakes. If you like your mystery spine-tingling and your sex dirty, do yourself a favor and buy this book. After reading "Darkness Bound" and "Pressure Points," Larry Brooks became an "automatic buy." I look forward to his next release.

Summary: Too dark .... too bleak .... too much
Review:

Larry Broooks' latest offering to the world of paperback fiction is ultimately a dark tour de force about family loyalty, friendship and forgiveness, but the author takes us on a long and tortuous route to salvation.

Bernadette Kane does not believe the police reports that say her sister Peggy committed suicide after a love affair went south. Bernie knows only that Peggy was involved with a computer magnate named Wesley and that Wesley had a jet. With the help of her long-time friend, Eric Killen, Bernie tracks Wesley to Arizona and lands a programming job at his company.

Bernie's appearance sets off a series of sinister events. While she thinks she's the lead dog, watching it all unfold, Bernie is actually just a pawn in two deadly games of greed and dark sexuality.

Do people like Damien and Diana exist? Are we so jaded that authors must resort to such bleak plot lines to attract readers? I sure hope not....on both accounts.

I'm no Pollyanna, but the book's dark plot lines and somewhat incredible denouement stop me from giving the novel a thumbs up. I hope Brooks will use his considerable creative talents on a more upbeat story next time around.

Summary: DARK, CRUDE, NASTY!!
Review: After reading the first two books by this writer, I was eager to read his third book. What a major disappointment! I was stunned!! This book made me sick to my stomach, it is dark, crude, and nasty! Yuck! Brooks, should go back to what he does best which is suspense and leave the other stuff alone. In my opinion he goes too far at times in his effort to be different.

Summary: Expect the unexpected.
Review: Having to start my Brook's reading with Serpent's Dance and go backwards to his other two books, I was amazed at how well crafted each story was, and how daring Brook's was to stray away from the norm in this third writing. To tackle a subject as taboo as sexual deviancy is one thing, but to do it in such an erotic, exciting and fast paced way shows true, masterful writing. Brook's has broached a subject that none of us likes to admit we are curious about, yet we lose ourselves in the pages of Serpent's Dance because we can't get enough. This is a book to read and then read again...and I will do just that.

Summary: Easy read but nothing more
Review: I did not find it to be a delightful erotic suspense as it states on the cover. Sex is boring, written from teenager point of view. There are no illicit details, no kinky explorations, and very weak plot. The end was obvious from first 20 pages. Since when masculine women wearing jeans and baseball cap became major attraction? Paul character sounds stupid, immature, and on the border of degenerative - you should be able to see it in his eyes, and do not make a handsome price out of him. This is second book of Larry Brooks that I did not like.

Summary: "What Movies Are Made Of!"
Review: I enjoy the writing style of writer Larry Brooks. His characters are always interesting. His dialogue very today. And, his plots are real page turners. I agree with the one reviewer that said he thought Mr. Brook's "Serpent's Dance," would make a great movie. So it gives me much pleasure to say that Mr. Brook's, "SERPENT'S DANCE,' could very well be the next 'Box Office Smash Hit!'

Summary: ANOTHER FEATHER IN LARRY BROOK'S CAP
Review: I love Larry Brooks' books. I read his first novel, Darkness Bound, before he became a recognized author, and before his books could be found in book clubs and every place that sell books. I was rivited by that book, as I have been by every other book of his I have read. Serpent's Dance is no exception. Mr. Brooks is a master at suspense, and his books are just enough over the top to make them impossible to put down. Like all his other stories, Serpent's Dance gives readers enough twists and turns to keep them reading well beyond any decent hour. His forte is letting the reader really think they know what is going on, and then pulling the rug out. In a nutshell, this story is about a woman whose sister died under very suspicious circumstances, and she is deterimine to find the truth. Needless to say the path she takes to find that truth (and we, the readers, happily follow her) is cicuitious and unpredictable. Mr. Brooks is not afraid to push the envelope of normalcy (this story involves some very kinky characters with some very kinky sexual behaviors) but never crosses over into the tasteless and gratuitous. Some of his nastier characters are the most compelling and likable. Reading a Larry Brooks book is not unlike a wild roller coaster ride. When the ride is over you find that you really want to go again!

Summary: Page Turner
Review: I loved this book, I was so surprised for a supermarket pick up. It was twisted, s[assy], and thrilling. I liked the plot, although it did get a little messy close to the end. It was a 'who done it' to a new degree. I will definatly check out other books by this author!!! I would however not recommend it for people under 17 though ~*****~

Summary: Another winner to be sure!
Review: Interesting storyteller, Larry Brooks, has another winner on his hands with this...his newest offering, "Serpent's Dance." A story so compelling it had me glued to my cozy chair the entire evening. IT WAS THAT GOOD! I am a huge fan of this writer and I think each book Mr. Brooks writes gets better and better. If you are into compelling page-turners then SERPENT'S DANCE by Larry Brooks is definately the book for you! (Highly Recommended Reading!) Take "10" writer Brooks you've earned it!

Summary: nice combo of eroticism and suspense
Review: It can not be easy as an author to write an erotic thriller; yet Mr. Brooks does so with great alacrity and aplumb. I finished this novel about Bernadette Kane, a womsn desperatly seeking answers, and perhaps revenge regarding her sister's death, who quickly succumbs to the sensuality of a mysterious pilot, who ulitmately unbeknownst to her might be more resposible for her sister's downfall, literally and figureative, than the man she holds responsible.
Larry Brooks skill in combining suspense and eroticism is key to making this novel such a compelling read. As I read it there were parts I found disturbing, and didn't want to read but like an accident witness couldnt tear my eyes from the mark of a true craftsman in his trade. The "erotic" scenes are skillfully, and unflinchingly described without the forcefulness found is much of "erotic" description found in market today.
His style is crisp and clean without being mundane or predictable in closing I most heartily and Lustily*wink* recommend this book as a must read anytime anywhere, but most especially as an entertaining summer read at the beach for those wishing a fast and furious escape in their fiction.
