Rating: Summary: Well done! Review: I was suspicious when I first purchased this book, and thought to myself "it will be very difficult to write a convincing sequal to Dracula." But let's just say I was pleasantly surprised. Bergstrom takes the character of Mina and gives her a dark side. The architypal heroine in distress is pulled from the pages of Dracula and becomes a complex, enigmatic, scheming, and sensual woman. There are creepy moments, and the sex is pretty volcanic. The plot moves well, as is elegantly constructed. My only complaint is that the ending seemed a little overdone, almost too complicated.Nevertheless, if you like Gothic horror, you will love this book.

Rating: Summary: Fascinating concept... Review: It's a great read ! It never occurred to me as to what would happen to Mina after she experienced that dark erotic force that was Dracula. This is such a wonderful continuation of the story that I immediately recommended it to my customers. Thanks Ms Kiraly for such an entertaining amd thought provoking story.
Rating: Summary: A WONDERFUL PIECE OF LITERATURE!!! Review: Kiraly captures the full saga of Bram Stoker's Dracula with fluid grace and dignity then takes it one step beyond. Mina is a masterpiece written with astute care and remarkable vision! The characters are skillfully crafted and express themselves with a depth and flare that gives us even more insight into the heart and mind of Stoker's original piece. Kiraly's ability to elaborate on their many already complex traits and yet still bring forth a multitude of exquisitely well-crafted landscapes will leave you gasping for breath! By all means, this has to be one of the best vampire novels ever!
Rating: Summary: Argh. Review: Let me just get the nitpicky stuff out of the way first: Lucy Westenra, not Lucy Westerna. Silly things like this (aka lack of attention to detail)are irritating & the author should have caught it. More seriously, though, Marie Kiraly has taken an interesting story, with real questions about race, ethnicity and the changing world of industrial Europe (not to mention a great villain in Dracula), and changed it into a whiny, uninteresting story of adultery. She took chracters that had substance in Stoker's hands and destroyed them. Ultimately, I found that the story was not worth the time it took to slog through it.

Rating: Summary: Full of feeling and wonderment! Review: Mina becomes sparked with emotions she didn't realise she had when she drank Dracula's blood. She gains a passion that she wants to satisfy, but is it right?, she seems to be wondering. She feels shame, but at the same time she doesn't. She just wants more from life and her husband. She will be happy, regardless. This book, on my opinion, is one of the best Dracula story continuations. The characters are familliar, yet you learn so much more about them.
Rating: Summary: Best as good Bram Stoker's Review: Mina is the best vampire book I have ever read. I couldn't put it down. It reminds you of everyhting she and the other men went through with Dracula then how Jonathan and the Dr. handle everything after htat it is wonderful. I could read it 10 times and still love it
Rating: Summary: I was astonished I was the first to think of this. Review: The idea for Mina came out of an interview I did. I and the reporter agreed that Mina would have a difficult time fitting into Victorian society after her adventure. A light flicked on in my brain and...voila! I am so pleased it has been so well received. There will be a sequel...and both books will be released under my own name, Elaine Bergstrom, probably in 2000.
