Summary: Witchraft and Zombies, yay!
Review: Why not the most intellectual of fares, The Walking is a still a very entertaining read. There were several parts scattered throughout the novel that acually gave me the "heebie-jeebies" and that is rare, for I do not scare easily when it comes to literature. But Little did it. Sure, he might not have the glamour of a King or a Koontz, but when you want horror go with him. For iy's a day when it seems that our favorite horror authors have grown up and graduated from the genre, King has moved on to the Green Mile and other more realistic and mature fare, while Koontz seems to be stuck in a perpetual run of psychological thrillers, but, although the old has moved on, there are still a few writers out there keeping the world of darkness alive, and Little is a good example. I can't really say what this book is about, because to find out that, you should read it, not listen to a half baked, crackpot reviewer like me. Seriously, what credentials do I have? None. Exactly, so why are you even reading this? Because you're bored, I understand, that's what I'm here for. But, anyhoo, read the book, it's good. Oh, and pay particular attention to the apple scene, just reading it made my teeth hurt.

Summary: Not one of his best
Review: "The Summoning" knocked my socks off, but this one is a bit of a letdown and not one of his best. For pure zombie fun I'm looking forward the Brian Keene's "The Rising" and loved "Night of the Beast" by Harry Shannon (althoug the danged zoms dont show until the last 100 pages, everything else does!) so although this is worth a read it is not one of BL's best. To give him his due he is very cool at showing modern america through a horror lense, so if you haven';t read him you should. I would just start with "The Summoning" or "The Store" instead..

Review: I think that this book is great. It is kinda hard to understand. I am enjoying reading it. Anyone that likes Bentley Little's writing, This book is the one. ...

Summary: pretty chilling
Review: I have to admit, sometimes I think ol' Bently gets a little too far out into left field. However, I really enjoyed this book. It starts out strong, and although the ending was a little too wild, the rest of the book makes up for it. I would definitely reccomend this book for people who enjoy supernatural suspense.

Summary: The Walking
Review: Now this is a fine book with a very good plot. In fact what I like most about this book is the fact that it doesn't hold back. It has allot of horrible images that make it that much more fun and exciting to read.

Bentley Little does a fine job with this story he builds it up for the whole book keeping you guessing and wondering what is going on. It is an imaginative spin on what is a tired theme in horror. But the whole book you keep on guessing to see what the ending is. It's a very top-notch book. About people that are walking to a destination unknown and all of these other people are dying horrible deaths.

It mainly is about a private eye that deals with a case and then sees his father become one of these walkers. It deals with him dealing with a case and dealing with the people walking. Once I found out what was causing everything I was very excited and I was also excited because of this very cool idea.

But sadly after what is a fine and very creepy book. The writer falls extremely short on the ending. Destroys what is an otherwise fine horror novel. If he would have spent more than two minutes figuring out the ending. This would have been the perfect novel.

This should of been a 5 star novel but sadly after the sad ending it pretty much ruins a otherwise very good book.

Summary: Walking, walking, walking...
Review: Brief plot synopsis: Some of the dead are walking, and the father of the book's protagonist is one of them. Miles must figure out why his father and the others are walking and what the connection between the walkers is.

...

The prologue completely creeped me out. Then, most of the rest of the book was also pretty creepy and a really smooth read. And then the book just kind of ended, and the epilogue was cheesy. I felt really let down, to the point where it was hard not to think about it...

Despite the ending, I still feel that this book is worth recommending, but it is not one that I will keep on my shelves.

Summary: Horrible...
Review: Put simply, this book is terrible. The characters lack depth, the story is too preposterous to be believed, and the flashbacks only add to the suffering. The basic premise--the dead start rising and walking around--is brilliant, but instead of focusing on that gem of a story, Little throws in witches and curses and all other manner of nonsense. Go re-read a classic King novel instead.

Summary: The Walking not the Horror event of the year, but close
Review: The Walking is one of Little's better plots. He weaves a fine story between "Then" and "Now." He confirms his place as a "Master of the Macabre."

The only reason I didn't give this a 5-star was because the story moved slowly at times, but it still was better than "The Town", which is probably Little's worst book. The beginning was great and probably let down some fans, because the ending doesn't live up to the start of the book.

Miles character wasn't fleshed out all that well, although his father was. If Little has a flaw, the key character might be it. However in the Store, his main character was awesome, same with the Association, which is his best work, I think.

The Walking is about a story of Witches who die after a flood leaves them buried alive under a lake, where years later dead start to walk to. Miles goes after his father with his ex-wife and fellow PI. They confront the evil and it does kind of leave us hanging, but this is an enjoyable ride.

Summary: Very Creepy......
Review: This was the fist book I ever read from Mr. Little and I must say that it is a fairly good one. The story is creepy and entertaining and the pacing is well done. However I must admit the with all it's creepyness there is a feeling by the end that somthing is missing. The worst thing about a book like this is that the story didn't develope enough. Some authors (Like King) seem to go into too much detail and lose you, while other's (McCammon's Swan Song) give you very detailed explinations while never losing you. Little's The Walking could have been better had it been longer but in the end it's still a quick read and much like junk food it's good while it last's.....

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Superb writing
Review: This book begins with the best opening sentence since Lonesome Dove, and gathers momentum from there. Highly entertaining, Mr. Little displays great writing style.
